A three-time winner over this course and distance, GREAT COLACI ran well dropped into this grade at this venue last week and was arguably unlucky not to win. Slowly into stride, Great Colaci travelled strongly and was making good headway when denied a clear run over two furlongs out, having to wait a long time to get a passage through. A gap did appear with a furlong left to run and Great Colaci finished well, nearest at the finish but just unable to catch the winner who got first run. He will remain of interest and is definitely shortlist material.
STREAK LIGHTNING made the perfect start to his career, winning his debut at Wolverhampton before following up at Ripon in June, but he lost his way subsequently, finishing well beaten on all three starts in handicap company last year. Returned to the all-weather over this course and distance in January however, he produced a career best to resume his progress with a comfortable win, asserting inside the final furlong having never been far away. That was a useful performance, and a 4lb rise may not be enough to prevent him going in again.

ABSOLUTE DREAM had hinted at a revival in his first few races this year, finishing second in a race that has since thrown up several winners, before again running creditably to finish third at this venue in February, just headed inside the final 100 yards. Both those outings came over a mile and, stepped back to six furlongs at this course last time, he stepped up on those efforts to resume winning ways, showing surprising speed back sprinting for the first time in a while. A 4lb rise leaves him still looking fairly treated based on his old form and another bold showing should be on the cards now kept at six furlongs.
