Along with Ruby Walsh and Frank Hickey on Paddy’s Ultimate Cheltenham Preview Night, trainer Tony Mullins and former jockey Nina Carberry ran the rule over the potential runners in Thursday’s feature race – the Paddy Power Stayers’ Hurdle.
We had a shock winner last year as 50/1 shot Lisnagar Oscar romped to victory but the 2021 renewal has been billed as a shootout between 2019 champ Paisley Park and Thyme Hill as they face off for the third time this season with the spoils currently at one apiece.
Don’t forget we’re offering non-runner money back on all 28 renewals at this year’s Cheltenham Festival so there’s no risk of losing out if your pick withdraws before final declarations. Paddy’s also giving away a free £/5 bet to Paddy Power punters to use on any race on Thursday.
You can watch the full discussion BELOW where Paddy, Tony, Nina, Ruby and Frank dissect the big race on day three.
TONY MULLINS
THYME HILL will beat PAISLEY PARK. Richard Johnson was disappointed with the ride he gave him in the Long Walk Hurdle before Christmas and he feels that he’ll turn it around with Paisley Park.
FLOORING PORTER‘s an improving horse but he has a bit to find to get up to these lads. I’ll be shouting for him but Thyme Hill looks the best.
NINA CARBERRY
I find it hard to pick between the first two but THE STORYTELLER could be a nice each-way bet coming from behind. There’ll be plenty of pace in the race with Flooring Porter and Thyme Hill so it could suit The Storyteller.
