Qualismart was strong in the betting when making an impressive winning start in a maiden hurdle at Market Rasen in November, looking a fine prospect in justifying the market confidence in strong-running fashion, but he was far too keen when third at Haydock subsequently, though he wasn’t persevered with once held. He is still very much a work in progress and remains with potential, so he certainly looks worth another go based on his debut form.
Flashing Glance showed improved to land a couple of handicap hurdles around this trip in the autumn, proving himself as good as ever to land the spoils at Uttoxeter and Market Rasen, defying a career-high mark on the latter occasion, and he arrives here fit from a spin in a jumpers’ bumper at Kempton last month. He remains unexposed over fences and may have more still to give in this sphere.
A two-time winner over hurdles last term, Winter Getaway has struggled to match that form since being sent chasing this season, her best effort over fences coming when third at Exeter in October. She has looked far from a natural over fences on her four starts in that sphere, but a return to hurdles could spark a revival, and she remains on a favourable mark in this code on the pick of her form over the smaller obstacles.
A wide-margin winner on his chasing debut at Aintree last season, Champagne Mystery has been unable to build on that performance over fences since, failing to complete on his last three outings. He is a free-going sort who more often than not proves a handful, but he clearly has ability, his Aintree performance that of a youngster who looked up to contesting graded races. This step up in trip could help eke out a bit of improvement, and given few of his rivals in this race are the model of consistency, he could be worth chancing to finally build on the promise he showed last season.

Aquila Sky showed improved form to finish third at Warwick on his handicap hurdle debut in November, and he improved again to fill the same spot at Doncaster the following month, a race that has since worked out well, the pair that finished ahead of him both going in subsequently. Aquila Sky was well held at Newbury last time, but is best forgiven that outing given he was likely unsuited by the testing conditions, and he looks worth another chance based on his two prior efforts.
A modest performer at best on the Flat, Thinque Tank has improved over hurdles since being sent handicapping, showing a bit more than previously to grab fifth at Catterick before finishing an excellent third at Doncaster in January, travelling notably well on the latter occasion. His mark has been unchanged since that encouraging showing and he looks weighted to go close.
A useful, if inconsistent, chaser at his peak, Copain De Classe has not been seen on the track for over two years, his last run coming at Doncaster in March 2019, but he hails from the powerful Paul Nicholls yard and warrants plenty of respect nonetheless. He has also won fresh in the past, landing the odds at Kempton in 2018, and if he returns at his best, he should have too much class for this field on what is his debut in a hunters’ chase.
