1.45pm: Derry v Cork Derry (-3) Shane McGuigan First Goal Scorer
4pm: Dublin v Mayo Mayo (+2) Con O’Callaghan First Goal Scorer
1.45pm: Derry v Cork
No disrespect to Cork but I think Derry would have been the happiest when the quarter final draw was made. Cork are off the back of a really good win last week but Derry won’t give them so much space and they definitely won’t allow them to run down the middle at them.
Derry (-3)
To me, this is one of the more clear-cut games of the weekend and it just has to be a Derry Win for me. I would fancy Derry to cross the three-point handicap and I think they might be able to open up a bit this weekend while Cork may struggle with the three weeks in a row.
Shane McGuigan First Goal Scorer
It’s hard to look back Shane McGuigan as First Goal Scorer. They have threats from everywhere but you’d find it hard to look Shane McGuigan.
If any team can rise when they play Dublin that certainly is Mayo. I’m sure a lot of effort and emotion went into that win away at Galway last week, though.
Mayo (+2)
The only thing I would worry about from a Dublin point of view is, are they coming in a little undercooked having not had a serious test for a while? For me this is Dublin’s to Win, but only just about. I would be fairly hot on Mayo in the handicap.
Con O’Callaghan First GoalScorer
If we’re looking for a first goalscorer, I’ve gone for him before and he’s done well, he scored first in his last game and it’s Con O’Callaghan. He’s scored first on a number of occasions this year and I fancy him to do it again on Sunday.
