HAVEN’T A CLUE WHAT A BET BUILDER IS? WELL, LET OUR HANDY WHAT IS A BET BUILDER?GUIDE REVEAL ALL
This is a meeting of two sides who have both had more turbulent seasons than a Ryanair landing. Many fans were expecting Tottenham to bounce back on Thursday night against Manchester United following their shocking 6-1 defeat at Newcastle, which they did following a lacklustre first half performance.
Ryan Mason has found himself in a similar position to two years ago following the sacking of Jose Mourinho. Back then he went on to win four out of six in the league but can history repeat itself? Maybe. Will the Spurs players be refunding fans again following Sunday’s game? I think not. I make this to be a close encounter, however, Liverpool have the advantage going into this match.
They’re on a three game winning streak (a first in 2023) and the last time Liverpool had a four game winning streak was in November/December. They are back playing some lovely football. The head-to-head stats on these teams make for an interesting read – Liverpool have lost just one of their last 20 games against Spurs (won 13, drawn six) and are unbeaten since 2017.
In the last five games between these sides both teams have scored and there’s been an average of 3.2 goals per game. I expect Liverpool to win and I fancy a 2-1 scoreline.
The dynamic duo both had assists in the last two games. Robertson has settled into his left-back position well and is still proving as agile as ever and he’s recorded eight assists this season.
Alexander-Arnold is enjoying the game again in his newly inverted midfield position and he’s recorded four assists in his last five games. With only one line to break and with his precision and quality of pass, it is a forward’s dream to have his service.
Since Mohamed Salah joined Liverpool back in 2017, he holds the title of the most league goals scored against Spurs. He went goalless against West Ham in the week, however, he is Liverpool’s leading scorer with 16 goals this season. He’s averaging 2.9 shots per game and he will find the back of the net on Sunday.
