There are few Saturday nights sweeter than those which follow an international break. That’s exactly what we have on the agenda this weekend and most of Europe’s big leagues are getting stuck into some Saturday night soccer.

This edition of your Saturday night Euro acca comes courtesy of France, Spain Italy and The Netherlands. We’ll kick off in Serie A where the surely-doomed Salernitana face Torino.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS

Atletico Madrid continue their top-four charge against Alaves in La Liga while Feyenoord and Willem II face off in the Eredivisie and St Etienne and Marseille do battle in Ligue 1 all at 8pm.

You know the drill by now, it’s four punts with a bit of value that add up to a fine four fold. Let’s see where Paddy’s trusty traders might have left the door open for us on Saturday night.

7.45pm: Salernitana v Torino – The Draw

Salernitana’s stay in Serie A looks to be a brief one. The side from Salerno are rock bottom and nine points from safety, but they do have two games in hand over the 17th-placed Cagliari.

They’ve only won on three occasions this season, though, and face a Torino outfit comfortably mid table in 11th. Both of these are in dreadful form and neither has won in their last eight games. Salernitana have picked up five draws in that time and their opponents four.

If anything you could argue that Salernitana are in the slightly better form but it’s hardly anything to shout about. Given that in these two’s last 16 games combined we’ve had nine draws and you can’t bet on either to win so The Draw could be a good play to get the ball rolling.

8pm: Atletico Madrid v Alaves – Over 2.5 Goals

Our next match features another side in big relegation trouble, Alaves. The boys from the Basque Country are 19th in La Liga and five points from safety.

Atletico Madrid are enduring a rollercoaster season but sit 4th with a four-point gap to Betis in 5th. This is a must win for them but, as they’ve proven time and time again this season, they like doing things the hard way.

Diego Simeone’s dogs of war are on a fearsome run, though, and are Paddy’s big favourites so we’ll look away from the W-D-W markets for a bet in this one. Instead, Over 2.5 Goals should have a good chance.

This has clicked in six of Alaves’ last nine and nine of Atleti’s last 13 Liga matches. Alaves are La Liga’s lowest scorers but Atleti only have a middling defence but an excellent attack so, one way or another, the goals should flow here.

8pm: Feyenoord v Willem II – Feyenoord Win & Over 3.5 Goals

We hop off to the Eredivisie next where European-chasing Feyenoord face relegation-threatened Willem II. Feyenoord are 3rd and can only go down given the gap between themselves and the top two. Willem are just one point clear of the drop zone and Fortuna Sittard below them have a game in hand.

Both sides badly need the points but on recent form there’s only one conceivable winner. Willem have won just one of their last 20 games while the hosts have prevailed in seven of their last 10.

Obviously Feyenoord are huge favourites so we’re stretching a bit to find some value. However, Feyenoord and Over 3.5 Goals might be a smart play. Willem II don’t score or concede too many generally but the home side are a mad house.

In their last four games Over 3.5 Goals has clicked three times and those games have seen 19 goals at an average of 4.75 per match. It’s much lower for the away side but there were four goals in their last match so we could see fireworks again here.

8pm: St Etienne v Marseille

We finish off in France where St Etienne host Marseille in yet another top vs bottom clash. To be precise, Marseille are 2nd and the St Etienne are 3rd bottom.

The home side aren’t in terrible form considering their lowly league position and they’ve lost just one of the last seven and that was away at Paris St-Germain. The problem for them is that Marseille have been tearing it up and are looking to make this their fifth win on the bounce in all competitions.

While St Etienne have been on a decent run they’ve not been playing the boldest and brightest teams the French top flight has to offer other than PSG who swept them aside with ease. On that parameter I think we can expect our away side here to do the same as we see a Marseille Win.
