Leicester play-write Shakespeare off! Mancini favourite to succeed him

Will the Premier League winning boss be next into The Foxes Den?

Leicester City have reportedly sacked manager Craig Shakespeare – with Roberto Mancini the favourite to succeed him on a permanent basis.

The Italian has publicly spoken about falling in love with Leicester as a city while playing on loan in the club in 2001, and the out-of-work boss tops the betting  at 7/1.

Also in contention are Guus Hiddink (7/1), Gary Rowett (17/2), Alan Pardew (9/1), and a shock return for former manager Nigel Pearson (9/1).

Asked about the next man for the Foxes spokesman Paddy Power said: “It was always likely to end in tragedy for Craig Shakespeare at Leicester City. Alas, poor Shakey!

“The 53-year-old has reportedly been dismissed just four months after taking permanent charge, which has presumably left him thoroughly Foxed off.

“Although, given the way his predecessor, Claudio Ranieri was sacked, I dare say he’s making much ado about nothing.”
