Monday sees Euro 2022 move into matchday 2, and with the late fixture seeing Group A’s top two teams meet.
England have had an extra day of rest since a Beth Mead strike saw them beat Austria 1-0 on Wednesday in the tournament’s opener, but Norway currently top the group after their 4-1 victory over Northern Ireland.

Over 3.5 goals
I’ll be staying away from the match betting in this one, although I do think the value lies with Norway. While England’s team is quite strong on paper, they flattered to deceive in their opener against Austria. Norway will force them play a little more here, and with a world class front 3 of Guro Reiten, Cato Hansen and Ada Hegerberg I can see Norway scoring at least one in this game. England have plenty more gears they can move into from what we saw on Wednesday night, and if we see them hitting the same kind of form in their warm up friendlies, we could be in for a goal fest here.
Both Teams to Score
Norway’s front 3 is incredibly dangerous, and by far their biggest asset. While England don’t concede many goals, it’s hard to see a second team keeping Hegerberg quiet. England have plenty of strong attacking options themselves, and should start with Lauren Hemp and Mead either side of Ellen White again, with strong replacements off the bench as well. I’d be surprised if this game doesn’t take a completely different direction to what we saw in England’s opener.

Guro Reiten to have 1+ Shots On Target
Norway’s front 3 all looked very dangerous in their opening fixture against Northern Ireland, and none more so than Chelsea’s star Guro Reiten. She managed a goal in the first game, and with all 3 working so well together the value seems to be on her for a shot on target.
Beth Mead to score or assist
For me, White is too short in the goalscorer markets which means the value lies elsewhere in England’s attacking options. Mead impressed in the opening game, scoring the winner and looking their biggest threat. She was Arsenal’s second highest goalscorer this season, and also managed 8 assists in the league which was the most of any Arsenal player.
