Football tips: Goals galore expected as Man Utd and Leicester battle for top-four finish

In unquestionably the biggest game of the day on Sunday (unless of course you’re a Villa, Watford or Bournemouth fan), 5th placed Leicester host 3rd placed Manchester United in a battle for what should prove to be the final Champions League spot – providing Chelsea don’t lose at home to Wolves.

It seems crazy to think that Leicester could have found themselves in this position given where they were before lockdown, but their wildly inconsistent form coupled with United’s good run has left them needing to go all out for a win here.

While a draw will be enough for United, there’s no fear of them sitting back here and playing for a 0-0 with the firepower they have going forward, which would lead to the rather obvious conclusion that there will be goals in this game – and plenty of them.

Jamie Vardy to score 2 or more

Along with the obvious Champion League ramifications, there is also the sub-plot of Premier League top goalscorer in the mindset. While it’s difficult to see Vardy surrendering his two-goal cushion over Danny Ings and 3 goals over the rest of the chasing pack, he will still be desperate to get on the scoresheet to all but ensure the golden boot and with David de Gea in goal, he could realistically score as many as he likes!

We have Vardy boosted in our Power Prices to score 2 or more, and this is something that you should get a decent run at as I imagine he’ll be having a pop from everywhere for the above reasons. 

Mason Greenwood to score, Man Utd to win and 4 or more goals @ 9/1

At the other end, Leicester are missing key defender Caglar Soyuncu – who thought it would be great craic to boot Callum Wilson up the backside during their 4-1 trouncing at the hands of Bournemouth. They will be relying on the experience of Jonny Evans and Wes Morgan, with Ryan Bennett a potential option to form a 3-man defence. This is hardly intimidating and the free-scoring trio Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Mason Greenwood & co. will be licking their lips up against this lot.
