Fans keep punting on Pogba as move to Premier League inches closer
Manchester United have been slashed in the Premier League betting after news that Paul Pogba is set to agree personal terms with the Red Devils.
New United boss Jose Mourinho is set to fork out a British record fee of stg £100m for the 23-year-old French international – four years after he pitched up at Juventus after complaining that there were too few opportunities at Old Trafford.
And for punters it seems Pogba’s arrival will achieve more than just knock teammate Marouane Fellaini off top spot for worst hair in the Premier League as the online bookmaker reported a flood of cash for United to win next season’s title.

The bookmaker has been forced to slash United into 3/1 in the past 48 hours – after the FA Cup champions were as big as 13/2 last May when Louis van Gaal’s reign was coming to an end.
But the arrival of Mourinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic from PSG, Eric Bailly from Villarreal and Borrussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mikhitarayan has seen punters force United into second favourites in the title race behind noisy neighbours Manchester City when the new season kicks off on Saturday, August 13.
One Manchester punter will no doubt be over the moon about Pogba’s signing after he stuck £1,000 on United at 6/1 in May.
United ,whose season kicks off with an away trip to Bournemouth, are the most popular team with Paddy Power in the Premier League title betting with almost 30 per cent of punters cash going on the red half of Manchester, while only 10 per cent being wagered on their cross-town rivals, Manchester City.
Both Liverpool and Mourinho’s old club Chelsea are being backed more than City as former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola takes the reins at the Etihad Stadium.
Paddy Power said:
“It appears Paul Pogba will be bringing more than another crap haircut to the Premier League and it’s no surprise United are being well-backed for the title with Mourinho brining in a host of star signings this summer.”
