Four top tips on Saturday’s Autumn Internationals from our rugby traders

Our rugby boffins give us four picks from Saturday's egg-chasing...

Wales v Australia: Wales to win by 1-12 points – 21/10

A close game is to be expected here between two teams that are quite evenly matched. Wales haven’t beaten the Wallabies since 2008, but Australia could well be slightly overrated.

The Australians have touched down in the Northern Hemisphere on the back of a win over New Zealand, and Michael Cheika’s team will be aiming to show that this result was no once-off. Warren Gatland has gone for something of an experimental side, but home advantage may tip this one in favour of the Welshmen.

Italy v Fiji: Italy to win at (-5) – 10/11

This one has probably moved too far away from the Fijians. Italian Pro14 teams have got their act together and with Conor O’Shea at the helm they can reasonably be expected to cover the handicap of (-5).

Ireland v SA: Anytime Tryscorer – Jacob Stockdale – 2/1

In case you hadn’t noticed, Ulster and Ireland winger Jacob Stockdale is very tall. Against South Africa, Ireland are rumoured to be considering employing a cross-kick tactic, which will suit the young star in his first game on home soil.

Consequently, it would be no surprise to see the big man get on the scoresheet with a try. At 2/1, it’s pretty good value as well.

Scotland v Samoa: Stuart Hogg Anytime Tryscorer – 4/7

Scotland will probably put a good few tries past the Samoans, and who better to lead the charge than their jinky little superstar, Stuart Hogg?

Hogg’s pace, agility and movement are lethal, and he has developed into one of the finest backs on the planet. It might even be a bit of a surprise if he doesn’t touch down at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Odds correct at time of posting.
