What’s the difference between an Acca, Bet Builder and Multi-Match Bet Builder?

Different types of bet can get very confusing, here's what you need to know

With so many different types of bet out there it can all get a bit confusing, here’s our explainer on the difference between an Acca, Bet Builder and Multi-Match Bet Builder.

Paddy’s always here to help, y’know.

What is an Accumulator?

An accumulator (or acca) is a group of individual bets on different events or games brought together in one mega wager. Each leg of your acca must win in order for you to win the overall bet and get a payout.

It’s called an accumulator because the odds grow for every leg you accumulate into the wager. The more legs, the less likely you are to win and therefore the greater the odds.

If one leg loses then your entire acca loses.

However, you could qualify for a free bet if one leg lets you down, which repays your stake back as free bets if your acca fails by one leg.

Here’s an example of an Acca. Note how the markets are selected from five different games:

What is a Bet Builder?

If you want to combine several bets like an acca on the same game, then you want to place a Bet Builder.

It’s similar to an acca in that you pick several bets and combine them for greater odds but instead of the bets being on different events they are placed one one event or game only.

Another important difference from accas is that you will not receive a free bet if one leg lets you down in a Bet Builder. Also, some markets that may be available to combine in accas may not be available to combine in Bet Builders.

Here’s an example of a Bet Builder:

What is a Multi-Match Bet Builder?

A Multi-Match Bet Builder combines miltiple bets across multiple events or games into one bet. A bet is a Multi-Match Bet Builder if it includes at least two bets on one event or game plus a bet on another event or game.

For example, if you want to bet on Real Madrid to win, Jude Bellingham to score and Vinicius to assist in one game and Man City to win and Erling Haaland to score to score in another game, you want to place a Multi-Match Bet Builder because you are combining multiple bets in two different games into one bet.

As with Bet Builders, you will not receive a free bet if one leg lets you down in a Multi-Match Bet Builder, and some markets that may be available to combine in accas may not be available to combine in Multi-Match Bet Builders.

Here is how a Multi-Match Bet Builder will look in your betslip:

So what are the differences between an Accumulator, a Bet Builder and a Multi-Match Bet Builder?

Accumulators combine single bets across multiple different events or games into one mega bet. You will need to place at least 5 selections from 5 different matches to benefit from the free bet if one leg lets you down offer.

A Bet Builder allows you to pick from multiple markets within a single match or event and combine these selections into one bet. However, the free bet offer does not apply if one leg lets you down.

A Multi-Match Bet Builder is a bet that combines multiple bets on different events into one bet. A Multi-Match Bet Builder is different because it includes multiple bets on one game but combines these with bets on other games or events too, whereas a normal Bet Builder only focuses on one game.

Again, the free bet offer does not apply if one leg lets you down.
