WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

13:00 – Hasty Brook

Quite a competitive novice hurdle in which cases can be made for recent course winner Donna’s Double (second choice), Ayr third Tough Out, the Skeltons’ Hidden Heroics and bumper runner-up Tfou. However, there was plenty to like about the winning hurdling debut in Ireland of HASTY BROOK and he is taken to make a successful start for his new yard.

13:30 – Seemingly So

SEEMINGLY SO bounced back to form with a bang when landing a gamble for his in-form yard at Musselburgh and remains well treated on old form. He’s taken to follow up at the main expense of the likeable Just Don’t Know, who’s bidding for the hat-trick. Speak of The Devil and Heavey look best of the others.

14:05 – Barrakhov

A fiendishly difficult puzzle to solve with so many of the runners yet to reveal their full potential. Bottom-weight Economic Editor took a big step forward last time and is much respected. He could prove the main danger to BARRAKHOV, who got off the mark at Southwell last time and may have more to offer in first-time cheekpieces. Cases can be made for several others, including En Couleur, Rumble B, Warriors Story and The Resdev Way.

14:40 – Everyday Champagne

It’s impossible to be dogmatic in a race of this nature but EVERYDAY CHAMPAGNE showed enough promise in novice company to suggest he can be a force in this grade of handicap. He gets the nod ahead of Get With It, who returned from a layoff with a fairly encouraging run last month. Jack Thunder looks quite interesting on today’s stable debut and is next on the list. Trac and Kinerton Hill fought out a finish on heavy ground at Wetherby last month but they encounter quicker conditions here.

15:15 – Bavington Bob

Only four runners but an interesting race which gives BAVINGTON BOB a decent opportunity to make it four chase wins in a row. It might not be easy, though, as Mac Tottie takes a drop in class, The Ferry Master (second choice) could go close on his first start after wind surgery, and Geryville can’t be ruled out off his reduced mark.

15:50 – Homme Public

HOMME PUBLIC has had excuses for his pair of defeats since his good reappearance run and this represents a drop in class so he gets the nod. Planned Paradise backed up his C&D handicap debut win with a good second at Wincanton so he’s an obvious danger. Sedgefield scorer Enlighten and the unexposed Greatest Star complete the shortlist.

16:20 – Another Theatre

Most of these have questions of sorts to answer but the most solid looks to be ANOTHER THEATRE, who ran well to be second at Carlisle last time. She jumped to her left on that right-handed track so this way round should suit her better. Golden Robin may prove the main threat, although Dolly Dancer is undeniably well treated if able to return to her best.

16:50 – Fancy Stuff

Although she has to concede weight to all her rivals, Ludlow scorer FANCY STUFF represents a powerful team and looks the one to beat. Some interesting newcomers oppose her and one of them, Chocca Mocha, may give her most to do.
