A small yet select field. Both Railway Muice and Say Nothing like to get on with things so this shouldn’t be an overly tactical affair. That should aid the 5lb claimer Katie O’Farrell aboard the blossoming SALLEY GARDENS. She rode a perfect race aboard Olly Murphy’s charge at Huntingdon last week and that duo are likely to take some stopping despite an incurred penalty. Presenting Yeats isn’t the easiest of rides and there’s also a slight question mark about his prowess on a softer racing surface, so the in-form Say Nothing is feared most.

Quite a tight race, as the top four on the card look well handicapped. First choice is THE SOME DANCE KID, who shaped encouragingly back over fences last time. Little Light is second on the shortlist, ahead of Dream Du Grand Val. The return to forecast faster ground presents a question mark for Sabbathical but he otherwise has strong claims.

Having performed well in a good handicap at Ascot last time, MEGAN has a strong chance back down in grade. Second choice is Talking About You who beat the selection, albeit on much better terms, at Aintree last December. Voice Of Calm remains open to further progress and Sorbet is also hard to rule out.
15:00 Xcitations (NAP)
The vote goes to XCITATIONS (nap), who made an encouraging chase debut at Huntingdon and has a good chance off his current mark back at handicap level. Second choice is Quoi De Neuf, who may improve for the tongue-tie. No Comment is comparatively exposed and now goes back against younger rivals but he’s well treated turned out quickly.
15:30 Rio Silva
Most of these newcomers have good credentials, notably the Olly Murphy-trained runners RIO SILVA and Secret Trix. Preference is for Aidan Coleman’s mount but the betting should help to firm up what’s expected. Third choice is The Sumba Island. Any positive market moves should be heeded.
