12:37 – Monjules
Having had plenty of experience of jumping hurdles in France the vote goes to MONJULES. Second choice is another ex-French performer Piecederesistance, who is making his hurdling debut.
NEW TO PADDY POWER?
13:12 – Gold Runner
Having failed to complete on both previous chase starts, GOLD RUNNER may be perceived as too risky for some. Conversely, she showed improved form over hurdles last term and is worth chancing off an attractive mark back in this sphere, in the hope that her jumping passes the test this time. In-form duo Grey Atlantic Way and Brother Pat are obvious dangers.
13:45 – Soloheadbeg
Dual novice winner Geromino looks on a workable mark for today’s handicap debut and Just Call Me Al will be a tough nut to crack if in the same mood as when scoring over C&D in September. It might be worth chancing SOLOHEADBEG, who has slippped to a tempting mark after three fairly respectable runs for his new stable and looks ready for another crack at this sort of trip.
14:15 – Kamil
It’s tricky to gauge how much ability KAMIL retains but he returned from his latest absence with a fairly encouraging run over an inadequate 2m at Carlisle three weeks ago and remains very well handicapped on older form. With Brian Hughes booked, he gets the vote. Course winner Cilluirid is still lightly raced over fences and may provide the main threat. Clondaw Pretender will be dangerous if back on song.
14:45 – Latino Fling
This mares’ handicap can go to LATINO FLING who is making her debut for Donald McCain having finished a sound third in a Bangor novice handicap when last seen out in May. Misscarlett, Chosen Shant and Cailin Dearg are others worth considering.
15:20 – Baron De Midleton
Heartbreak Kid and Frimeur De Lancray can both be dangerous off their current marks if back on song, while Sounds Russian is very lightly raced and looks a good chasing prospect. However, the one to beat is BARON DE MIDLETON (nap), who was out of the weights when second over C&D last month and looks well handicapped off his correct mark.
