CLOUDBRIDGE looked a good prospect when making a winning debut at Leicester, pulling three-and-a-quarter lengths clear.

The form of that race has already received a boost with the third turning over an odds-on shot next time, and it’s worth noting that Cloudbridge clocked a good time and fast closing sectional, providing further evidence of the merit of the performance.

He is 8lb clear on Timeform ratings and, with improvement on the cards, he can kickstart a big day for trainer Charlie Appleby.

15:15 Wednesday Juddmonte International – Ghaiyyath

Five of the six runners in the Juddmonte International have won at the highest level, but GHAIYYATH stands out on the form of his Coral-Eclipse win over Enable at Sandown last month.

Ghaiyyath showed he was a horse of rare ability when bolting up by 14 lengths in the Grosser Preis von Baden last season, but he disappointed in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, folding tamely after setting some stern mid-race fractions.

He has won all three starts since however, confirming beyond doubt that he is a top-class racehorse, looking the finished article now a mature five-year-old. He was a dominant winner of the Coronation Cup at Newmarket in June, maintaining a strong gallop having raced with plenty of zest and produced the performance of his career to make all in the Eclipse.

His ability to keep up a strong gallop sets him apart from his rivals and he will be difficult to overhaul at York.

14:45 Friday Gimcrack Stakes – Supremacy

SUPREMACY was too green to do himself justice on debut at Windsor but he clearly learned plenty from that initial outing as he was a different proposition at the same course next time, looking far more professional as he made all to win in a fast time.

The style of that success persuaded connections to have a crack at the Richmond Stakes at Goodwood and Supremacy proved up to the task, producing the best performance by a two-year-old this season to score by four lengths.

He is clearly a very speedy colt and York’s flat, fast 6 furlongs should play to his strengths.
