Horse Racing tips: Our six best bets at Tampa Bay Downs tonight

A super six from sunny Florida

We played a Heinz at Will Rogers Downs yesterday and ended up with two winners and a non-runner out of our six picks. We’re playing with moderate returns and going with the same bet at Tampa Bay this evening where the action gets underway at 5.30pm.

You can watch the races live on Sky Sports Racing and on Paddy Power.com. We make Federale our best bet on the card this evening. Be lucky!

5.30pm – Little Natalia @ 6/4

Explosive Package put in a career-best effort when third over a furlong further on March 21. Gary Wales will be expected to make more use of her early on over this shorter trip. She’s an improving filly and is one for the shortlist.

Little Natalia showed ability when fifth under tender handling on debut at Gulfstream last July. She’s completely unexposed and should be more than capable of holding her own in this class. She’s having her first run for the Antonio Macheda stable. Macheda gets more than his fair share of winners & we take her to land this prize from an ideal inside draw.

6pm – Charliecando @ 9/2

Charliecando is yet to win after five attempts. He’s having his first Tampa Bay outing and is returning from a break tonight. What catches our eye is the booking of top jockey Samy Camacho and the fact that the gelding is kept to this class when weaker opportunities are available. He ran well when second at Arlington in September and if in that sort of form he’d take all the beating.

My Eclair is also respected.

6.30pm – Blue Chicory @ 3/1

Blue Chicory was a comfortable course and distance winner here two weeks ago. This looks a stronger race but with Angel Suarez keeping the ride he’s sure to set solid fractions once again. He’s our pick ahead of Blazing Brooke.

7.00pm – Milburn @ 15/8

Moro Drama was short of racing room as they turned for home when third over course and distance on April 1. That was his first frame finish in his 11 race career. He’s no world-beater and jockey Julio Mera isn’t the most stylish but we wouldn’t be surprised if he made the frame at a big price.

For win purposes, we’ll side with Samy Camacho’s mount Milburn. He showed ability on debut here a little over a year ago and with the top jock up he looks the obvious choice.

7.30pm – Federale (NAP) @ EVS

Jockey Samy Camacho is booked for debutante Bahamian Star and he’s worth a market check. Federale ran well on his comeback on March 14. He’ll enjoy this drop in trip and class. He sports blinkers for the first time.

We think he can lose his maiden tag at the fifth time of asking.

8.00pm – Rosalda @ 9/4

Rosalda wasn’t beaten far when stepped up to this trip on March 13. She ran on well enough to warrant another try over this distance. She has winning form over 6 furlongs so we expect her to have enough pace to lay closer to the speed this time.

Samy Camacho who rode Rosalda that day switches to I’m That Bird and he’s also respected.
