The Grade 2 Charlie Hall Chase is the first big prize of the season for staying chasers in Britain – and it’s shaping up to be a cracker.

Ahoy Senor and Bravemansgame resume their ding-dong rivalry from last season as they head into open company against the likes of Eldorado Allen and Win My Wings, who bring high-class form to table, while last year’s Denman Chase winner Secret Investor makes his long-awaited reappearance.

As well as laying down an early marker for bigger targets further down the line, £100,000 in prize money is up for grabs at Wetherby including £56,950 to connections of the first horse past the post.

The latest Charlie Hall Chase odds are on the Paddy Power website, otherwise all the key details about this year’s renewal can be found below.

Ahoy Senor and Bravemansgame are vying for favouritism as the rivals prepare to meet on track for the fourth time in 18 months.

Ahoy Senor landed the Sefton Novices’ Hurdle in April 2021 at a price of 66/1, Bravemansgame then turned the tables in emphatic style in the Kauto Star Novices’ Chase at Kempton last Boxing Day before Lucinda Russell’s charge bounced back to land the Mildmay Novices’ Chase as his rival finished last of four runners.

Eldorado Allen is next in the betting as the highest-rated horse in the race makes his stable debut for Joe Tizzard. The eight-year-old enjoyed Grade 2 success in the Haldon Gold Cup and Denman Chase last term.
