USPGA Championship 2023 prize money breakdown and winner’s earnings at Oak Hill major

The USPGA Championship is the second major of the season and the prize money on offer backs up the prestige.

A quality field of 156 players, including the world’s top 100, will descend on Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York for four days of top-quality action between Thursday, May 18 and Sunday, May 21.

In addition to a replica of the giant Wanamaker Trophy, Justin Thomas took home a tidy $2,700,000 from the €15,000,000 prize pot for beating Will Zalatoris in a dramatic play-off to win last year’s tournament.

There is a 20 per cent increase to the money on offer at the 2023 USPGA Championship so the total purse has reached €18,000,000, with the winner set to bag $3,200,000 and only the top 50 earning a slice of the pie.

You thought the cash and a trophy was it? Well, the winner also bags a place in the next five PGA Championships and the other majors as well as a five-year membership to the PGA Tour.

Spaniard Jon Rahm is the favourite in Paddy Power’s betting for the 2023 USPGA Championship after storming to victory in the season’s opening major, the US Masters.

Irish eyes will be on Rory McIlroy as the County Down native bids to end his long major drought, which stretches back nine years to his last triumph at the 2014 USPGA Championship.
