7:45pm: Porstmouth v Barnsley

League One match at Fratton Park

Portsmouth To Win and Both Teams To Score

Portsmouth are one win away from securing their promotion back to the Championship. John Mousinho’s side were held to a 1-1 draw away at Bolton on Saturday, putting their promotion and League One title hopes on ice. They welcome Barnsley to Fratton Park on Tuesday night as they try and clinch their long-awaited return to the second tier.

As with all things in the English Football League, it is unlikely to be plain sailing. Visitors Barnsley are also hunting for points to secure their spot in the playoffs, and they will make life difficult for Pompey. They are five points above seventh-placed Blackpool so a point would be precious.

However, I think Portsmouth will have enough to find the victory. But, with a record of both teams scoring in five of their last six games, I’m going for Portsmouth To Win and Both Teams To Score.

7:45pm: Peterborough United v Fleetwood Town

League One match at Weston Homes Stadium

Over 2.5 Goals

Peterborough United had an interesting Saturday, losing 5-0 to fellow promotion chasers Oxford United. Darren Ferguson showed frustration towards his team’s performance by making four changes at halftime, but they couldn’t turn the tide of the onslaught from the U’s.

Posh will be looking to make amends against Fleetwood Town on Tuesday, who desperately need points to do the almost impossible and avoid relegation. All signs point towards a goal fest for this one, and with the added inflexion of Peterborough seeing Over 2.5 Goals in all of their last five games, I’m backing that.

7:45pm: Notts County v Stockport County

League Two match at Meadow Lane

Stockport County To Win

Stockport secured promotion to League One on Saturday after a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Morecambe. However, they were denied the League Two title thanks to Wrexham’s 5-0 thrashing of Forest Green. A win away at Notts County will be enough to secure the championship.

Saturday’s win was the sixth in a row for Dave Challinor’s side, who will be hungry to finish the job on Tuesday at Meadow Lane. The hosts have nothing left to play for as they sit comfortably safe from relegation, but out of reach of the playoff places. That isn’t to say they will be slim pickings for Stockport, who must avoid complacency to end it.

The league leaders have enough quality and should be champions this week. I’m backing Stockport County To Win.
