It’s another wild Wednesday on the European football scene. There’s no Champions League this week but all the big nations are in action with league and cup affairs on the agenda. We’ve got all the Premier League action covered here but let me guide you through the best of what’s on offer across Europe.

We’ll kick off in the DFB Pokal with RB Leipzig v Union Berlin before hopping over to France for some Ligue 1 action between Angers and Paris St-Germain. Elsewhere there’s a clash between old foes Juventus and Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia and we finish off in La Liga with Real Madrid’s trip to Osasuna.
I’ve found some fine flutters which all add up to a four fold with a bit of value. Let’s see what’s on offer for Wednesday’s big games across Europe.

7.45pm: RB Leipzig v Union Berlin – BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals
TV: Premier Sports 2
Union Berlin take on RB Leipzig for a spot in the DFB Pokal final and this should be a good clash between two in-form sides. Leipzig are 3rd in the Bundesliga while Union are 6th and are fighting for a European spot.
The home side here are in sensational form and have lost just once in their last 19 games and that was away at Bayern Munich. Union’s overall form is nowhere near as good but they have won three on the bounce coming into this.
You have to think RB will win this but they’re pretty short to do so. Instead I’ll side with Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals. RB have netted in 18 of their last 19 while it’s six in their last eight for Union.
8pm: Angers v Paris St-Germain – PSG to Win & BTTS
TV: BT Sport 1
Paris St-Germain can finally wrap up the Ligue 1 title if they beat Angers and Marseille lose to Nantes. While the latter seems unlikely the former looks absolutely nailed on.
Angers have won just one of their last 11 matches, losing eight and drawing their last two. PSG had gone through a bit of a rocky patch but they’ve now won three on the bounce. The slight worry here is their away form. They lost four in a row on the road before thumping Clermont 6-1 last time out.
But there is surely no hope for the hosts in this one. It’s hard to see them winning but they do stand a good chance of scoring as PSG always seem to concede, especially away from home. I like the look of PSG to Win and Both Teams to Score.
In their last nine games in all competitions, PSG have conceded at least one on eight occasions. Angers have scored in their last four, as they did in their 2-1 loss to PSG at Parc des Princes earlier in the season and we’re getting a good price on a repeat of that.
8pm: Juventus v Fiorentina – Under 2.5 Goals
TV: Premier Sports 1
Next, to a meaty clash in the Coppa Italia where Fiorentina travel to their hated rivals Juventus for a place in the 2022 final. The away side are in good form and will be hopeful of causing an upset.
Juve sit two places and four points clear of Fiorentina in 4th but they’ve stuttered a little of late, winning two, drawing one and losing two. The visitors are in superb form and are unbeaten in their last six, winning four and drawing two.
For all the hype I’ve been giving Fiorentina, the fact is that Juventus have already beaten them 1-0 home and away in the league this season. I still can’t get past the potential for a Fiorentina win based on current form so will take a punt on Under 2.5 Goals.
As mentioned, this has clicked in both league matches and in five of Juve’s last eight now. For Fiorentina it’s clicked in seven of their last nine. In a tight match that could go either way this feels the best play.
8.30pm: Osasuna v Real Madrid – Over 2.5 Goals
TV: LaLigaTV
Real Madrid’s march to La Liga glory continues on Wednesday night at Osasuna. Real are top, 15 points clear of Barcelona with six to play. Osasuna are 9th and have won four of their last six, losing the other two.
Real have lost just one of their last 12 La Liga matches, that 4-0 battering at the hands of Barcelona, and the goals have really been flying in of late. They’ve seen 36 across their last 10 games, an average of 3.6 per match.
The hosts’ games have had quite a lot fewer but they’ve still seen plenty with 26 in the last 10, an average of 2.6. It all boils down to an average of 3.1 goals per game over their last combined 20 matches. The numbers tell us we could see another exciting encounter and Over 2.5 Goals.
