Premier League action finally returns on Tuesday with Newcastle hosting Everton at St James’ Park. Eddie Howe will have numerous new players to pick from after the Toon’s hectic January transfer window. Everton, meanwhile, are hoping to find form under new boss Frank Lampard after a promising start in the FA Cup rout of Brentford last weekend.

Newcastle v Everton – Tuesday, February 8: 7.45pm
BT Sport 2

Short-price punt: Both Teams to Score

It’s hard to completely rely on form due to Newcastle having 36 new players and Everton appointing a new manager. However, the stats do add up. Everton’s last three away games have seen BTTS land, while Newcastle’s last two home games have finished 1-1. Newcastle could have an almost completely different back four, it could take some time to gel.

Everton come into this one on the back of their 4-1 win against Brentford in the FA Cup on Saturday, with Lampard hoping to build his side’s confidence. The crowd will be behind Howe’s men and Everton will fancy their chances. We’re expecting goals in this one so Both Teams to Score will do us.

Value Punt: Everton to Win

Even though Newcastle have brought in plenty of talent to bolster their ranks in hope of Premier League survival, they’re still not a great side. They struggle to score goals – even after signing Chris Wood – and unless Dan Burn and Matt Targett can hit the ground running, they will continue to concede goals.

Everton looked impressive against Brentford on Saturday with Yerry Mina, Richarlison, Mason Holgate and Andros Townsend all scoring. Lampard also has Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek to integrate into his side. However, like Newcastle, it’s worth noting that could take time with the pair horribly out of form. It won’t be easy due to the home crowd but we’re siding with Everton to Win with Lampard being the X factor.

Long Shot: Richarlison to Score First & Everton to Win 2-1

Richarlison led the line for Everton in the FA Cup on Saturday and the Brazilian bagged his fifth goal of the season. His campaign has been hindered by injuries following his late start due to the Olympics last summer but he looks ready to turn it on for the rest of the season under Lampard.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is currently an injury doubt for the Newcastle clash so Richarlison could once again be Everton’s striker on Tuesday. It’s a long shot but it’s a great price so we’ll have a punt on Richarlison to Score First & Everton to Win 2-1.
