14:05 – Vitralite

Cavalluccio comes here at the top of his game on the all weather so seems sure to have a big say if translating that form onto a rare turf start, but VITRALITE took advantage of a hugely reduced mark on his debut for Sean Woods when going in at Chelmsford and can follow up off 3lb higher with that form having been franked. Eleven Eleven and Bulleit look best equipped to fight it out for minor honours.

14:40 – Sir Bolton

The market should prove highly informative but Dominic Ffrench Davis’s Blue Point newcomer SIR BOLTON fetched 155,000euros as a yearling so is taken to continue the yard’s fine recent run and make a winning start at the chief expense of Shayekh, who also hails from a stable among the winners. Phoenix Duchess is another debutante who needs considering.

15:15 – Ziryab

Bear On The Loose shaped well when a Lingfield debut third so must enter calculations but there are some potentially useful newcomers in opposition, not least the Gosden-trained pair ZIRYAB and Savanna King, with preference for the costly Kingman colt who is a brother to the stable’s very useful 1m winner King Leonidas. Kingfisher King and Kalamunda are two other debutants who make a fair bit of appeal in an intriguing novice.

15:50 – Beelzebub (NAP)

Karl Burke has won three of the last five running of this event so his good recent Nottingham second Open Market (second choice) commands plenty of respect. Both Sassy Belle and Kessaar Power arrive on the back of wins and must enter calculations too, but the vote goes to James Ferguson’s improving Dark Angel gelding BEELZEBUB (NAP), who can make light of a 4lb rise in the weights and complete his hat-trick.

16:25 – Intergalacticat

A case can be made for most of these but the vote goes to James Fanshawe’s INTERGALACTICAT who appeals as the sort to show a fair bit of improvement now he steps into handicap company with his stamina drawn out more. The consistent Smooth Ryder (second choice) can also have a say with both Burnish and Absolute Queen not discounted either stepping up in trip.

17:00 – Han Solo Berger

Bang On The Bell would hold leading claims if able to back up his Wolverhampton victory, but he’s yet to show his best form on turf so preference is for HAN SOLO BERGER who has no question mark on that front and is suited by this course and distance.

17:35 – Jenever

Jessica Macey’s low-mileage 4 year old JENEVER looks the way to go, given he had to race wide throughout when runner-up at Southwell last time and can race off the same mark here. Reliable pair Munificent (second choice) and The Tron seem sure to be on the premises once more while in-form maiden Mr Fayez needs factoring in too.
