13:25 – Thia
Beaten by eight lengths when fourth of six at Cork on debut; experience of five furlongs Cork run and this extra furlong should help.
14:00 – Jenni
Representing a yard that has already unleashed a smart juvenile, JENNI has the pedigree to be precocious and is selected. Blamethechampagne is also bred to be speedy and can take high rank, while Ellie Moore and Porta Fortuna are interesting.
14:35 – Time Tells All
With Young Ireland looking flattered by his rating, Derby entry TIME TELLS ALL (NAP) is a confident selection to go one better than on his promising 1m Navan debut. Cape Bridgewater and Deakin are likely to be involved.
15:10 – Point Lonsdale
There are two potential class-acts here, and perhaps it will pay to take a chance with former Group 2-winning juvenile POINT LONSDALE, not seen again after contesting last season’s 2,000 Guineas. The Irish Derby second Piz Badile could also make a smart performer at four. If neither runs to form, this may revolve around a renewal of Naas rivalry involving Visualisation and Self Belief.
15:45 – Mea Domina
French import MEA DOMINA made a bright start to her Irish career at Leopardstown and may uphold form with Power Under Me. Joseph O’Brien’s Goldana, a recruit from Germany, looks capable of making her presence felt.
17:20 – Tawaazon
Though he is 4lb out of the handicap, TAWAAZON is still 11lb below his all-weather rating and has the assistance of a fine 5lb claimer, so could continue his roll. Downforce is also 4lb out of the handicap but will relish this trip. Laugh A Minute is a danger up just 4lb for his 5f win here last time while Magical Vision just scraped home over this trip last time and is 6lb higher.
16:55 – Run Ran Run
On form this looks between RUN RAN RUN and Desert Haven, separated by just a head on their return at Naas over this trip. The former is preferred, as he has had only two runs and has more scope for improvement. First Gentleman is interesting, as the Harrington first-string and needs a market check.
17:25 – Lets Believe
Dick Brabazon’s runner LETS BELIEVE was second in this event last year and gets the vote to build on her Navan return. Run Forrest Run made an encouraging seasonal debut over same course and distance and rates an obvious danger. Others with a leading chance include Senado Square, raised 9lb for a Naas win, and Ecclesiastical, third over 5f at Bellewstown ten days ago.
