Cheltenham Festival 2023 Preview Night

14:35  Doncaster – Pretending

Fairly promising performances when placed on first two hurdle starts (2m/1m7f, good), even though she was turned over at 8-11 at Catterick last time; has potential off her opening mark in view of her Flat ability and she receives a handy 4yo allowance; firmly in calculations.

15:00 Lingfield – Tolstoy

Has shown some positive signs this year, most recently second at Kempton (6f) despite racing freely; remains well treated having defied a 7lb higher mark when with previous stable; major player, especially if settling better than last time.

16:40 Lingfield –  Bashful Boy

Readily justified favouritism in C&D contest last Saturday, proving well suited by the first attempt beyond 1m4f on the Flat (winning hurdler at 2m1f/2m2f); leading player under a penalty (future mark 2lb higher).

17:05 Newbury – Porter in the Park

Moved well throughout when winning on good ground at Huntingdon (2m4f) and she was clear of the remainder when chasing home a big improver (twice successful since) at Hereford (2m3f); up another 2lb but plenty to like.
