13:20 – Making Music
MAKING MUSIC needs to bounce back from a couple of below-par runs, but she is starting to look well handicapped judged on the pick of her form. After all, she lines up here from a BHA mark of 60 having finished a good second off 64 at Wolverhampton in August and the application of first-time blinkers could well spark a revival in the weakest handicap she has ever contested.

13:52 – Lord Clenaghcastle
LORD CLENAGHCASTLE looked an unlucky loser when filling the runner-up spot on his belated reappearance at Lingfield in September, doing well to be beaten just three quarters of a length having conceded first run to the winner (left with too much to do). He can line up from the same mark today and seems sure to be thereabouts if putting a below-par run at Chelmsford last time behind him.
14:28 – Lady Loulou
LADY LOULOU showed plenty of ability when third on her debut at Newmarket in July, passing the post six lengths behind stable companion and subsequent Sun Chariot runner-up Laurel. That form comfortably sets the standard in this line-up and she is very hard to oppose with further progress on the cards on her first start for three months.
15:03 –Soames Forsyte
SOAMES FORSYTE showed much improved form when third on his debut for Kevin Philippart de Foy (formerly trained by David Menuisier) at Windsor three weeks ago, passing the post just half a length behind the winner and looking unlucky not to finish closer still having been caught further back than ideal. He now makes the switch to handicaps and should be capable of winning races from a BHA mark of 79, very much the type to go on improving as he gains in experience.

15:38 – Mr Buster
MR BUSTER made an encouraging start to his career when second at Nottingham earlier this month, ultimately proving no match for the winner (beaten five lengths) but staying on well to emerge as the best of the rest. He should take a step forward with that run under his belt and just a repeat of his debut form might be good enough for him to get off the mark at the second attempt.
16:13 – Candleford
CANDLEFORD looks the one to beat in this listed contest as he seeks a first success since easily winning the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. After a couple of underwhelming runs, he then bounced back with a good third in the Cumberland Lodge Stakes over the same course and distance last time, doing all his best work late on to pass the post just a length and a half behind the winner. He clearly has the ability to win a race of this nature and this looks an excellent opportunity now back on the all-weather.
16:45 – Sea the Casper
SEA THE CASPER ran right up to his best when finding only the classy Just Fine too strong at Leicester four weeks ago and there is nothing of that calibre in opposition today. He possibly isn’t the most straightforward, but there is nothing wrong with his strike rate (three wins from six starts) and a BHA mark of 97 still looks workable judged on the balance of his form.
17:20 – Pawapuri
PAWAPURI produced a career best to open her account at Yarmouth five weeks ago, making light of a four-month absence as she stayed on well to get the verdict by a head. She remains open to improvement after just four starts and an opening BHA mark of 80 is unlikely to be enough to prevent her from following up on her handicap debut.
