There was no element of fluke about WOODLANDS CHARM’s much-improved win at Ripon so she’s taken to defy a 5 lb rise. Charming Wally ran a solid race on his nursery debut at Chelmsford and rates the main threat ahead of Cobra Kai, who showed good pace at Beverley.

MOTAWAAZY has yet to finish out of the frame since joining Michael Dods, registering a third career success when making all at Carlisle 8 days ago. He can continue the good work under a penalty, with Sfumato and Auckland Lodge fancied to give him most to do.

A quick-fire C&D hat-trick beckons for QUERCUS, who had more in hand than the neck margin indicated 9 days ago (idled final 1f) and Ann Duffield’s charge is taken to make light work of a 5 lb penalty.
