13:50 York – Real World

REAL WORLD has been a revelation since coming back from Dubai. He won the Royal Hunt Cup at Ascot really impressively and then following up in Listed company with ease at Newbury. He is on an upward curve and will take a bit of stopping at a track that will suit him.

14:05 Sandown – Reach For The Moon

Frankie Dettori misses the last day of York as he wanted to ride REACH FOR THE MOON here for The Queen. John & Thady Gosden’s colt narrowly missed out at Royal Ascot to Point Lonsdale back in June, but made no mistake beating Harrow – a subsequent winner at York – at Newbury last time out.

14:25 York – King Of The Castle

This son of Galileo won a maiden at Limerick over 1m 4f and has run some good races. If the rain arrives KING OF THE CASTLE could be a major player. I still believe he has a good each-way chance in this contest anyway.

Parachute is interesting and the son of Sea The Stars is lightly raced and has tackled some good horses in his short career too. He ran a very good race at Royal Ascot finishing third to Surefire in the King George V Stakes and the step up in trip should suit.

14:40 Sandown – Saffron Beach

SAFFRON BEACH was placed in the 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket over a mile behind Mother Earth, but then looked like she didn’t stay the 1m 4f trip in the Epsom Oaks. She can take advantage of the drop down to Group 3 company after finding the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes a little hot on her latest run.

15:00 York – Primo Bacio

PRIMO BACIO has had a couple of unlucky runs this season. She didn’t have the smoothest of passages when fifth behind the winner Snow Lantern and fourth-placed Lady Bowthorpe in the Falmouth Stake at Newmarket. Lady Bowthorpe has come out and won a Group 1 at Goodwood since then.

Space Blues is the obvious danger, but he took an age to find top gear at Goodwood last time out and could have been rusty. It could turn out he is too good for these, but at the prices I am happy to stick with Ed Walker’s filly.

15:35 York – Fujaira Prince

There are lots of improvers in here chasing the £300,000 pot, and Johnny Murtagh’s Sonnyboyliston has to be on the shortlist, as he ran well behind Hukum here in July. He has already bagged a premier handicap in Ireland over 10 furlongs, showing a lot of natural talent in the process. If Hamish were to win, it would be a feather in the cap for his trainer William Haggas, as he has not raced for 428 days.

Roberto Escobarr has run some good races and ran in the same contest last time as my selection FUJAIRA PRINCE – who won this race last year. He has a warm up run at York under his belt and when you see him in the flesh he is a big horse! He needed that run to blow the cobwebs away and I know it is a big ask carrying such a huge weight, but he is big enough to carry it and win the Ebor Handicap for consecutive seasons.
