ROSE BARTON was well backed and shaped with plenty of encouragement when runner-up in a course and distance novice on debut three weeks ago, her inexperience possibly finding her out as she ran on late. She gets the nod to build on that and make it second time lucky. Hodler, Jazz Club and City Runner are a trio of others entitled to be in the mix.

17:55 The Daley Express

THE DALEY EXPRESS left the strong impression that his turn is again near when beaten less than a length by Bellevarde over this course and distance a fortnight ago, and is taken to reverse the placings with that rival on slightly better terms. Bellevarde was subsequently turned over at Nottingham and Han Solo Berger, who has slipped to an attractive mark and returns to 0-80 company, rates the main danger.

18:25 Tall Order

TALL ORDER and Crystal Starlet are promising types and may be the pair to concentrate on, for all that Candleford and Chinook should both do better in time. Crystal Starlet left her debut form well behind when third over course and distance recently and she almost certainly has more to offer. However, preference is for Michael Bell’s charge, who shaped very well on his belated reappearance last month.

GLEN ESK made it 2-2 over this course and distance when completing the hat-trick a fortnight ago and this upwardly mobile four-year-old probably has more to offer. He is taken to extend his winning spree, perhaps at the chief expense of Prince of Harts, who appeared to benefit from the drop back to this trip when third at Sandown. Recent hurdles winner Lady Reset and Galactic Glow are live each-way contenders.
