However, DARK TULIP showed useful form at this trip before disappointing over 6f next time and she deserves at least one chance to confirm the promise of the earlier run. Addie Boo Boo is also hard to rule out, having started a short price for her debut fifth behind two smart rivals.

14:00 – Desert

The suggestion is DESERT who was by no means disgraced in the Super Sprint at Newbury that is already producing winners. Prodigious Blue is feared most ahead of Greek Philosopher.

14:35 – Touchwood

This looks a bit trappy but it might be worth giving another chance to TOUCHWOOD, who recorded his fifth placed effort when a close third behind an odds-on rival at Brighton last month and has leading form claims on this drop back in trip. Godolphin’s Gold Wing showed promise with a front-running third at Newcastle on her comeback and looks interesting on her switch to sprinting, while the well-bred newcomer Tawaazon needs a close look in the market.

15:10 – West Side Glory

If she can get her act together earlier than at Salisbury last time then WEST SIDE GLORY might provide the answer. Halcyon Spirit has progressed with each race and he’s the second choice ahead of Imperial Eight.

Roman Mist is a likeable 3yo who should give her running but DARTINGTON (nap) is only 3lb above his winning mark and he might be an improver this season if his reappearance effort is anything to go by. Appreciable rain would bring Latent Heat into the equation.

16:20 – Miramichi

The 3yo MIRAMICHI is firmly on the up and can defy a 6lb penalty for last Thursday’s comfortable win at Newbury. Encourage is another progressive 3yo and could be best of the rest, ahead of the in-form Cumberland Plate runner-up Croeso Cymraeg.

16:55 – Yagood

Plenty have possibilities but the one that appeals most is the progressive 5yo YAGOOD, who has won three times for his new yard this season and finished well to go close over 2m in his hat-trick bid at Musselburgh last month. Tin Fandango trounced his rivals at Lingfield three weeks ago and is a big danger, particularly if rain arrives. Selsey Sizzler ran well in a Class 4 last time and is respected on his drop back in trip/grade, while Bird For Life could be a big factor if this sets up for her closing style.
