Horse Racing tips: Your best bets for Goodwood on Tuesday

Consider your card marked by Timeform.

Goodwood 14:25 – SONGO

SONGO added to his impressive strike rate when successful at Bath last time, leading two furlongs out and keeping going well to win by three quarters of a length. He remains relatively unexposed and is fancied to mount a bold follow-up bid from only 5 lb higher in the weights.

Goodwood 15:00 – TICK TOCH

TICK TOCH is bred to be useful and shaped encouragingly when fourth on her debut at Newbury last month, making some late headway to get within three lengths of the winner. That form sets the standard in this line-up, and, with further improvement on the cards, she is a confident selection to get off the mark at the second attempt.

Goodwood 15:35 – DHUSHAN

DHUSHAN makes plenty of appeal on paper and could be up to making a winning debut in a maiden where those with previous experience set only a fair standard. He is related to plenty of winners and cost 150,000 guineas as a yearling, so it will be no surprise if he possesses an above-average level of ability.

Goodwood 16:05 – ROYAL ADDRESS

ROYAL ADDRESS took a big step forward when making a successful nursery debut at Sandown recently, storming clear in the final furlong to win by four lengths with plenty in hand. The handicapper has reacted accordingly, giving her a 14 lb hike in the weights, but she may yet have even more to offer and remains very much one to bear in mind.

Goodwood 16:40 – THEMAXWECAN

THEMAXWECAN won this race 12 months ago and looks to hold sound claims of repeating the feat from only 4 lb higher this time. Admittedly, his recent form figures don’t inspire much confidence, but he shaped better than the bare result when down the field at this venue last time, leaving the impression that the return to this sort of trip can see him bounce back before too long.

Goodwood Race Course

Goodwood 17:10 – ABEL HANDY

ABEL HANDY produced his best effort for a while to resume winning ways at Ripon last week, making all to land the spoils by a length and a quarter in decisive fashion. The quick turnaround here is a slight concern, but there is an obvious case to be made for him if arriving in the same sort of form, especially as his penalty is negated by the claim of promising jockey Sean Kirrane.

Goodwood 17:45 – JOHN LOCKE

JOHN LOCKE is proving expensive to follow but has done little wrong, showing fairly useful form to fill the runner-up spot for the third start in succession at Lingfield last time. That form is far superior to anything his rivals here have achieved, so this looks an excellent opportunity for him to gain a deserved first success.
