Horse Racing Tips: Matt Chapman’s perfect 10 for Saturday’s ITV racing

Matt has your back for all the action on the tellybox.

Matt Chapman Cheltenham

It’s a bumper Saturday on ITV Racing with no less than 10 races on terrestrial TV from Haydock, Kempton and Ascot.

So let’s get straight to it and try to deprive Paddy of some of his not-so-hard-earned cash!

The latest racing odds are on PaddyPower.com now

13:45 Haydock – Khaloosy

Coverage kicks off with a Group 3 over a mile. Stormy Antarctic must have a great chance but I have to give the brilliant Royal Ascot winner KHALOOSY another chance here.

The Britannia hero flopped last time at Goodwood when beaten at 4-7. But that was on good to firm ground and the Ascot success was on soft. If the conditions are key he could easily land this for Roger Varian and Jim Crowley.

14:15 Haydock – Favourite Moon

Next up handicap company over 1m6f. FAVOURITE MOON looked like a horse to follow when scoring at this track on his penultimate start but he was well beaten in the Melrose at York. I’m hoping that was just a blip and he can land this for William Haggas and Andrea Atzeni.

14:50 Haydock – Future Investment

A competitive event next with the Old Borough Cup Handicap over 1m 6f. FUTURE INVESTMENT is improving and stays strong. He’s also got a good draw to work from. The only issue is that he’s creeping up the handicap after a fine success at Chester last time. But he must have a great each way chance in an open event for Ralph Beckett and Harry Bentley, who have proved a useful team.

15:25 Haydock – Lope Y Fernandez

Now the big one, with the Group 1 Sprint Cup over 6f. LOPE Y FERNANDEZ is unproven in very soft ground, but he has stamina and travels like a very talented horse over further. He was a super fine second to Pinatubo in the Prix Jean Prat when he came there on the snaff, and was far from disgraced behind Space Blues in Deauville last time.

Getting a bit of weight from some of these so he might well upset a few and run huge for Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore. Moore is out of isolation, although I’m not sure he will be pleased about that!

16:00 Haydock – Aplomb

And finally at Haydock a tricky handicap over 5f. APLOMB is a little down the handicap and goes in soft ground. He’s been up to 97 but down to 91 here and the ground conditions are ideal for a return to his best for William Haggas and Tom Marquand.

14:00 Kempton – Cloudbridge

The Kempton coverage includes this Group 3, the Sirenia Stakes over 6f for juveniles. I will give CLOUDBRIDGE another chance for the Charlie Appleby and James Doyle. The son of Hard Spun looked decent on debut at Leicester but then ran a shocker when last at York in the Acomb. He is surely better than that! Hope so.

14:35 Kempton – Enable

Now the Group 3 September Stakes over 1m4f, being used as an Arc trial for ENABLE. Enable will obviously land this on route to the Arc for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori. I would take Tinandali for the forecast as a horse with a bit of speed.

15:05 Ascot – Kipps

Coverage at Ascot starts with a handicap over 1m4f. KIPPS has been consistent this term without a success but definitely does have an each way chance here for Hughie Morrison and Kieran Shoemark. The King George V Stakes runner-up returns to the scene of that run a little up the handicap. But he still has place claims.

15:40 Ascot – May Sonic

Next is another handicap over 5f. No doubt the improver is MAY SONIC here for Charlie Hills and Dane O’Neill. My hope has won his last two races at Kempton and Windsor, and while he’s up from 78 to 93 his ability may well allow him to overcome the extra mark.

16:15 Ascot – Society Lion

And finally a handicap over 7f. SOCIETY LION has a win on heavy and is a big price here considering her was far from disgraced at Goodwood last time. He’s an improver here for Sir Michael Stoute and has the benefit of Cieren Fallon on top. Lightly raced and there is more to come.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
