New to Paddy Power?

Easter weekend is one of the highlights of the EFL calendar with things heating up at both ends of the table up and down the pyramid. The games come in quick succession, with everyone playing at least four times across 14 days with Good Friday and Easter Monday slap-bang in the middle.

This period makes or breaks many a season. And, with the games remaining column in single figures, now is the time for the cream to rise to the top. So, make sure you’re on the ball this week as we’ve got a full list of fixtures on Good Friday and here’s four of the best bets about for the 3pm games in our EFL acca.

Preston v Norwich – Norwich to Win

Talking of the cream of the crop, Norwich have been the standout side in The Championship this season. They’re eight points clear at the top of the table and have a comfortable 14-point cushion to Swansea in 3rd.

A return to the top flight now feels inevitable for the Canaries. They travel to Preston on Good Friday looking to take another step back to the Premier League and will face a side who have lost more games (10) on home soil than not (9).

16th-placed Preston have lost four of the last five while Daniel Farke’s folk are motoring along and won nine on the bounce before a draw with Blackburn last time out. Norwich to Win is my NAP of the weekend at a decent-enough price, all things considered.

Hull v Crewe – Hull to Win

Our next selection features another table-topping side in the form of League One leaders Hull who host Crewe on Friday. The Tigers may be top, but they’ve not mauled the competition like The Canaries have.

They hold a slender one-point lead over Peterborough in second but The Posh have a game in hand, meaning the visit of 14th-placed Crewe is a must win for Grant McCann and his side.

Two disappointing draws over the last two weekends further heightens the need for the win and should focus minds up on Humberside. Crewe, for their part, have been inconsistent with seven points taken from their last five games but we’re backing The Tigers to roar back into life and a Hull Win.

    Grant McCann

Ipswich v Bristol Rovers – Ipswich to Win

It all started so well for Ipswich in League One this season and a return to The Championship was looking likely. But The Tractor Boys’ wheels have come off in spectacular fashion. Skip forward a few months and they’re 11th in a congested League One midfield, two points off the playoffs.

Paul Cook came in to replace Paul Lambert at the start of March and has been handed a relatively tough start with just two of his six games being played at Portman Road. The results haven’t been great and they need to start winning to move back up the league.

So, it may be a godsend that free-falling Bristol Rovers are making the trip from west to east on Friday – for Ipswich, at least. Joey Barton’s Pirates are second bottom and have lost eight of the last 11. Ipswich badly need to Win and this is the perfect opponent for them to get back on track against.

Bolton v Colchester – Bolton to Win

It took a while, but pre-season title favourites Bolton have finally showed up to the League Two party. Terrible early-season form saw them in the bottom third of the fourth tier but they’ve discovered their mojo and have racked up 11 wins in their last 13 league games.

They’re up to 4th and are only out of the automatic promotion places on goal difference. They’re just four points off top with a game in hand over Cambridge. Make no mistake, Bolton have a great chance of winning this league now of they can keep their momentum going.

To do so they’ll need to make light work of 21st-placed Colchester who are just four points off the drop zone. It’s been some collapse for Col U after they made the playoffs last term. The Trotters look unstoppable and who are we to go against another Bolton Win at a very acca-backable price?
