Football tips: Matheus Pereira can help us pick off this 31/1 Same Game Multi

West Brom welcome Burnley to The Hawthorns at 17:30 on Monday.

Match Odds: Draw

The fact that this is already a battle between the 17th and 18th-placed sides in the table must be a worrying sign of possible things to come for fans of West Brom and Burnley. Out of the seven games both outfits have played combined so far this season, they have only collected just one point between them – that came when West Brom threw away a 3-0 lead at home to Chelsea in the last minute.

The Clarets may have played a game less than their hosts, but are yet to get off the mark in terms of points this season and have gone down to Leicester, Southampton and Newcastle. Sean Dyche will see this as an ideal opportunity for his side to break their points duck in this season’s Premier League.

Things tend to be tight when these sides clash in the top tier, as their last three meetings show. Both clubs have a win apiece (by a single goal margin) and there was also a 2-2 draw in there. With neither team seemingly capable of keeping goals out defensively, we find it hard to separate them in the betting and we’re going to tip a stalemate.

Over 2.5 goals

You might find it unusual to see this market tipped in a game involving Burnley, but hear us out! Believe it or not, The Clarets are quietly becoming one of the most consistent away scorers in the Premier League.

Dyche’s disciples have actually found the net at least once on their travels in their last six outings. See we told you, we had the stats to back it up! Also supporting this selection is the fact that West Brom home games have featured three goals or more in each of their last five matches at The Hawthorns.

There are even goals when these sides meet each other at the home of West Brom. In the previous seven contests between the pair, there has been a minimum of three goals in all of them. Given the trend we’ve seen in the Premier League so far this season, don’t be surprised to see the scoreboard operator have a busy evening on Monday.

Matheus Pereira to score anytime

We were tempted to tip Callum Robinson here given his heroics against Chelsea, but he is a doubt for the game given the Covid-19 issues that dogged the Republic of Ireland squad during the international break. Therefore, we have to go down a different route to find a scorer here.

If you just follow the Premier League, Matheus Pereira may not be a name you are too familiar with. But, if you watched the Championship closely last term, you will know all about the talented Brazilian.

For many, Pereira was seen as the best player in the league, and the creative force behind the run to promotion for The Baggies. That’s not to say he didn’t contribute on the goal front either, where he picked off an impressive tally of eight from midfield in the league.

He has already opened his Premier League account this season too, with a stunning free-kick away to Everton. With Pereira ruling the roast when it comes to set pieces for Slaven Bilic’s men, that can only help the chances of our wager coming in.
