Football betting tips: 4 goalscorer picks for this weekend’s Bundesliga

First or Anytime - you decide.

Erling Haaland – Borussia Dortmund v Schalke (Saturday 14:30)

I am going to play it safe here and go for Haaland. He has nine goals in eight appearances and he got two against PSG in the Champions league.

If you look at that game, at one point he defended a corner with a headed clearance and then sprinted the length of the field like Usain Bolt. He has serious speed and desire to get up the pitch. He’s not greedy, he has a low ego.

All round, Haaland is already a superstar. His goalscoring record is phenomenal and I’d have to back him.

Timo Werner – Leipzig v Freiburg (Saturday 14:30)

Freiburg have been good this season, so I don’t see a huge amount of goals despite Leipzig’s high-flying status.

Timo Werner, who has been linked with a big money move away this summer, has 21 goals in 25 games this season. He has scored 34% of his team’s goals. So, if Leipzig score, it’s Werner who has a one-in-three chance of getting it.

He impressed me against Spurs in the Champions league and he’s the one I’d back here.

Jhon Cordoba – FC Koln v Mainz (Sunday 14:30)

The Colombian has 10 goals this season for Koln, including six in his last seven. When he first went to FC Koln, he had a terrible first season with no goals in 18 appearances. But he matured last year in the second tier and has kicked on again this season.

After a terrible start, FC Koln are now one of the in-form teams in the league. FC Koln to score the most goals between now and the end of the season is 100/1. They are a fun team to watch and this could be a bit of an interest bet.

First goalscorer9/2. Anytime13/8.

Robert Lewandowski – Union Berlin v FC Bayern (Sunday 17:00)

You just can’t argue with his record this season. He is the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 25 goals and the top scorer in the Champions League with 11. He is averaging a goal every 71 minutes.

Since 2010 for both Bayern and Poland, he has had 413 appearances and has scored 293 goals. That’s a goal on average every 117 minutes – this season he has got that down to 71 minutes. It’s a phenomenal run of form. Like Werner at Leipzig, when Bayern score Lewandowski has a one-in-three chance of being the goal-scorer.

He was injured just before the lockdown and missed Bayern’s last three games but should be back fit for this weekend. I know he’s a short price but if you are doing a goalscorer Acca, there’s no harm in picking a few favs.

First goalscorer17/10. Anytime2/5.
