The Return of Tactics Tim? Sherwood favourite for QPR job

Following QPR’s sacking of Steve McClaren after he'd won one league game since Boxing Day, a familiar face has emerged as the favourite to take over.

Tim Sherwood is rated as 6/5 with our traders to take the reins at QPR having not found a route back into management since he left Aston Villa four years ago.

Also in the betting is Darren Moore (12/1), who was controversially sacked by West Brom last month and may relish the opportunity to prove a point to his former team.

Former Rangers manager Mark Warburton is also rated 11/4, followed by Gareth Ainsworth (11/2), John Eustace (10/1), Gary Rowett (14/1), Nigel Pearson (14/1) and Matt Gardiner (16/1).

Our own tactical genius Paddy Power said: “After a disastrous stint at QPR, Steve McClaren has been sacked today and we’ve made Tim Sherwood the favourite to take over from him.

“Though many football fans will be hopeful that this spares us of his punditry, it may not be a popular appointment for the Hoops, who are currently 17th in the Championship. Get your gilets out.”
