4pm: Guinea v Malawi – Guinea to Win

Guinea kick off their AFCON campaign against Malawi on Monday, with Naby Keita and Co. desperate to start the tournament with a win ahead of their clash with outright favourites Senegal on Friday. Guinea, who have struggled to find form recently, won their final friendly game against Rwanda on Thursday to boost their confidence heading into this one.

Malawi have won one of their last six games and they’re without key players Charles Petro and Mark Fodya, who both tested positive for Covid-19. Guinea are clearly the better side and they should have more than enough to secure the win.

4pm: Morocco v Ghana – Morocco to Win

Morocco v Ghana sees two potential dark horses to win the tournament face off. Morocco were unbeaten in qualifying for this year’s AFCON and they’ve lost just once since July 2019. Ghana, meanwhile, only lost once in qualifying. However, they were dominated by Algeria in their friendly on Wednesday which won’t have helped their confidence.

Morocco rely on Wolves’ Romain Saiss and Achraf Hakimi of PSG in defence, while Sevilla’s Munir El Haddadi and Youssef En-Nesyri will lead the line. They’ll face off against numerous Premier League players, with Thomas Partey, Daniel Amartey and Jordan Ayew all set to feature. Chelsea’s Baba Rahman – yes, he’s still on their books – will also likely start at left-back.

We’re siding with Morocco to win this one in what could be one of the best games of the tournament. They’re hard to beat and they’ve got plenty of attacking threat going forward.

7pm: Comoros v Gabon – Gabon to Win

Finally, our attention turns to Comoros v Gabon. Comoros are making their first ever AFCON appearance and they face a Gabon side who can’t call upon their star man Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Arsenal striker tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss Monday’s game.

Despite Gabon being without Aubameyang, they should still have plenty to beat newcomers Comoros. Gabon will know they need to win on Monday ahead of their final two group games against Morocco and Ghana.

Monday’s tips:

4pm: Guinea v Malawi – Guinea to Win
4pm: Morocco v Ghana – Morocco to Win
7pm: Comoros v Gabon – Gabon to Win
