The wheels are coming off Spurs’ Top 4 finish for this season. Are they Spurs-ing it up…again? Manager Antonio Conte seems to have lost the run of himself of late…again. After throwing away a 1-3 lead away to bottom-of-the-Premier-League-table Southampton he blew up in his press conference.
He blamed the players, he blamed the board, before backtracking later, and previously he’d blamed the fans for Tottenham’s recent Champions League exist to AC Milan. Surely, he can’t last much longer after such an outburst in the managerial hotseat so we’re looking at some of the favourites to take over as the Next Tottenham Manager.
Ryan Mason is currently a coach under Conte at Tottenham but is the former Spurs midfielder ready to take the step up to become the No. 1 in the hot seat? Mason is only 31 and he has limited experience, however, he does know Tottenham well and has taken temporary charge before. It would be a brave appointment from the Spurs hierarchy.

Mauricio Pochettino
Mauricio Pochettino, who has been out of work since leaving PSG, is always linked with a return to Tottenham and his price to return to his old employees has been dropping very steadily of late. The Argentine is adored by most Spurs fans and many would love to have him back in north London. His style of play is easy on the eye and he’s also got a great relationship with star men Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
Some are put off by the old adage of ‘never going back’ but he’s probably the best fit for the players on the books at Spurs and with a French league title to his name now he might have the experience to push on this squad. A reunion could be on the cards.

Oliver Glasner
Another interesting name near the top of the list is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Austrian boss Oliver Glasner. He guided the Bundesliga side to the 21/22 Europa League so at least comes armed with something shiny in his personal trophy cabinet.

Thomas Tuchel
Maybe Tottenham go from one former Chelsea boss to another?
Thomas Tuchel had a brilliant spell at Chelsea before being harshly axed, with the German guiding the Blues to the Champions League, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Tuchel also won silverware at PSG and we all know how desperate Spurs are to pick up some silverware. Could it be a perfect match?

Luis Enrique
Former Barcelona and Spain manager Luis Enrique may just be tempted to return to management by taking a big name team in the Premier League. Of the current Big 6, it’s only the Chelsea job that looks like becoming available and it would be hard to see Enrique taking over that basket case and the players on Spurs’ books would suit his style of play better.
Enrique won two La Liga titles with Barcelona, one Champions League and a Club World Cup and guided Spain to a runner-up place in the 2020-21 Nations League. His sides play lovely football on the eye, although they can sometimes over-pass the ball when in possession. His experience might be exactly what this group of players need.

Marco Silva
After too less-than-satisfactory terms as manager of Watford and Everton, Marco Silva has finally found his groove at Fulham. Following promotion last season, Fulham were one of the favourites for relegation but, at the time of writing, look like they’ll finish comfortably in the Top 10 of the Premier League.
It could be as simple that he does better with better players and he’d certainly have that at Spurs. Fulham play fast, attacking football too, something Spurs fans haven’t really seen much of since Poch’s exit in 2019. Not a big name compared to the others but one that could push them a little further up the table.

Thomas Frank
Thomas Frank has done a brilliant job at Brentford, with the Bees pushing to finish in the top six this season.
Frank was linked with a move to Aston Villa before they appointed Unai Emery, however, the Dane ended up signing a new long-term contract with Brentford.
While Frank is flying at Brentford, the allure of a bigger club like Tottenham could be an opportunity he can’t turn down.

Roberto De Zerbi
Roberto De Zerbi falls into a similar category as Frank, with the Italian doing excellent work at Brighton.
The Seagulls are genuine top-six contenders and they could even push for the top four if their form holds up.
However, Brighton are well aware after Graham Potter that they struggle to keep managers and players if a big offer comes in – unless you’re Moises Caicedo that is!

Massimiliano Allegri
Massimiliano Allegri is currently in his second spell at Juventus, who look to have turned a corner following their Serie A points deduction. However, Juve are in a moment of transition and won’t have much money for quite a few transfer windows and we know has previously loved to splash the cash to keep Juventus at the top of the Serie A table.
Allegri has the experience of managing big clubs from his time at The Old Lady and AC Milan and he would expect Tottenham to spend big in the transfer market to back him. We know that probably wouldn’t well with Mr. Levy.

Zinedine Zidane
Zinedine Zidane has been linked with a move to the Premier League at least once a year for the past five seasons so could Tottenham be his landing spot?
Spurs would have to fight off PSG for his services but Zidane is a proven winner and he won plenty of silverware at Real. Zidane is an outsider here but he might prefer to take a job will a little less pressure that a PSG or Man City…for the time being.
