Odds slashed on James Norton to be next James Bond

Will he be making War & Peace as 007?

Paddy Power have slashed the odds on James Norton succeeding Daniel Craig as the next James Bond, after a stream of bets on the War & Peace star overnight.

The succession of punts on the Grantchester actor saw his odds tumble from 7/1 on Tuesday to 2/1 this morning – with Norton now the clear favourite for the role.

He leads Dunkirk star Tom Hardy (4/1), Boardwalk Empire actor Jack Huston (9/2), and Luther lead Idris Elba (7/1) in the betting.

Asked about the Norton news spokesman Paddy Power said: “The world is Nort enough for James Norton, clearly, but it would be his 007ster if he lands this gig.

“Already adept at making both War & Peace, and doing a bit of sleuthing albeit as a vicar, from previous roles, we think his CV makes him The Man With The Golden Gun for Bond producers.”
