Saints to Win

The Saints’ defence is definitely not an elite unit, but they’re seventh in the league in terms of opposition red zone conversion – which means other teams struggle to score against them when they’re within twenty yards of the end zone.

Andy Dalton has been lights out since taking over from Jameis Winston, which is one of the league’s biggest surprises.

And Alvin Kamara looks revitalised. They’ve clearly benefitted from Chris Olave who looks the league’s best rookie receiver and Taysom Hill makes it tough to predict exactly what they’re attempting on any given play.

That diversity and the fact that Baltimore are down another host of offensive weapons suggests to me that they’ll not be able to diversify their point of attack enough to fool New Orleans.

Over 47.5 Points

The Saints have produced 510 rushing yards from explosive plays in the league thus far this year – it’s seventh in the league, despite the fact that their amount of runs that become explosive are fourth-worst in the league.

They don’t just do big plays – they do seismic plays and that’s generally due to designer looks. Combine that with Baltimore who specifically design plays to gain massive yardage, primarily through their QB, and you’ve got yourself a high-scoring affair waiting to happen.

Isaiah Likely to Score Anytime

Likely, which is a terrific name in this instance, is now Jackson’s go-to target.

He’s a huge, fast target and no defensive scheme in the league can cover him if he learns to use his size advantage to cover his lack of footballing intellect or nuance.

A good example of this would be Donald Parham.

Given the lack of receivers available to Jackson, it doesn’t just make Likely the ehh… likeliest of players to catch the ball, it might make him the only one – especially as they play a lot of run-heavy formations.

Andy Dalton – Over 238.5 Passing Yards

As Quarter Back, Dalton has obviously been one of the keys to the Saint’s three wins so far this season. Their five losses this campaign though mean they really have to go all out for the win here and we reckon they should do it in what will be a brusing affair for both sides. Dalton has notched up 1175 passing yards to date with the Saints which is an average of 235 per game. Obviosuly the line is just over that but with the Saints pushing hard for the win we can see him playing going long with his passes to his runners as time ticks down at the Superdome.

When playing in front of home fans across his career we see a nice variation in his stats with him averaging 250.39 yards completed. In front of a prime time crowd on home turf he’s going to be instrumental in the Saints taking the win here.
