Horse Racing Tips: A 11/4 tip gets the nod at Lingfield today

The boffins fancy Shouldvebeenaring in the 15:06.

13:40 –  Daheer

Buxted Too would merit plenty of respect if turned out again but the way he faded out of it at Newcastle on Thursday suggests a busy spell may have caught up with him and a better option might be DAHEER. Mark Loughnane’s runner has done his winning on Wolverhampton’s Tapeta but ran well on his previous visit here and is now 1lb below his last successful mark.

13:56 – Tone The Barone

Kiwano looked promising at Kempton on his return to action in January but dropping to this sharp 5f asks a new question of him. Alligator Alley has enjoyed a productive winter and should run his race but he has finished behind TONE THE BARONE on his last two starts and he may do so again. Stuart Williams’ 7yo has looked as good as ever in recent outings and he can gain compensation for his agonising defeat in a Listed event over C&D last week.

14:31 – Hul Ah Bah Loo

Although there wasn’t much between HUL AH BAH LOO and Blue Collar Lad over C&D two weeks ago, the former possibly deserves extra credit for coming from well off the pace to overhaul three prominently ridden rivals and he can come out on top again.

15:06 – Shouldvebeenaring (NAP)

Richard Hannon sent out Lexington Times to win this in the Middleham Park colours back in 2015 and can repeat the feat courtesy of SHOULDVEBEENARING (NAP), who escapes a penalty for his turf Listed win at the end of last summer and showed he’s returned as good as ever when defeating Alpha Capture in a 6f Southwell conditions event in January. William Haggas’s runner should give another good account but it could be that the chief threat comes from the unbeaten Iconic Moment, who was put in the 2,000 Guineas the other day.

Cheltenham Festival 2023 Preview Night

15:41 – Sausalito

Ballet Blanc, Global Style and Savoy Brown (second choice) should have a good tussle for minor honours but SAUSALITO has looked a cut above this level since fitted with a visor and he can make light of his big weight and complete a quickfire four-timer.

16:16 – Toplight

Fair And Square drops into his first 0-55 handicap and has the assistance of Oisin Murphy in the saddle but the suspicion is he will remain vulnerable. Veteran Storm Melody is high on the list but Battle Point and TOPLIGHT may be the pair to fight it out. The selection has been in good form this year and still looks on a workable mark. The return of a tongue-tie could revive Top Exhibit’s fortunes and it will be interesting to see if his backers return too.

16:51 – Timestamp

With a record of 3-3 in Class 6 company on AW, TIMESTAMP could well prove capable of defying top weight returned to this level. Possible improver Jersey Gift is the suggested second choice, ahead of Easy Equation and Be Fair.
