Horse Racing Tips: Matt Chapman’s best Saturday’s bets for the ITV races

There's no jumps action this weekend so ITV have switched to the All Weather action where Matt fancies Lake Sand (14:05) at Chelmsford. And Lingfield needs to pass a Saturday morning inspection.

Lingfield 13.15 – Yimou

ITV Saturday gets under way (if the tracks passes a Saturday morning inspection) with a handicap over 5f. YIMOU really does deserve to win a race like this and might have his day for Dean Ivory and Cieren Fallon. I managed him in Racing League earlier in the season and gave him some chances as I just felt he was ready to score. He’s knocked on the door since including then a good second last time. Has a good draw to work from and can come home strongly.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Lingfield 13.50 – LOTHIAN

Another handicap over 6f. Wide open. LOTHIAN has a poor wins to runs ratio with just one success in 24 outings. That said, he’s not gone as far as 6f much recently and ran really well over the trip last time. Has a decent enough draw so fingers crossed for Michael Attwater and Rhys Clutterbuck.

Chelmsford 14.05 – LAKE SAND

ITV also show three races from Chelmsford Saturday starting with this handicap over 1m. LAKE SAND is only low grade but has a good draw to work from and the help of Luke Morris for Ali Stronge. Two recent runs at this track have been all right.

Lingfield 14.25 – UMMSUQUAIM

A handicap over 1m4f. The question here is whether the success of UMMSUQUAIM was a fluke last time he ran. I was working at the track that day and he success was a shock and came on a big step up to this distance. He’s only gone up 2lb so if repeating for Jean-Rene Auvray and Mohammed Tabti.

Chelmsford 14.40 – LORD PARAMOUNT

A handicap over 7f. LORD PARAMOUNT got off the mark at Wolverhampton the other day and has every chance off a mark of 70n for Cameron Noble and Roger Varian. Ostilio is very well handicapped if getting loose on the front end.

Lingfield 15.00 – SWEET FANTASY

The Winter Oaks Trial Fillies’ Handicap over 1m2f. SWEET FANTASY is up in the weights a little after success at Southwell last time but is in good form for Ralph Beckett and can operate well over course and distance. Should go well for Franny Norton as a lightly raced and consistent type.

Chelmsford 15.15 – MAYBE TONIGHT

A handicap over 6f. I don’t fancy any of these! In that situation I stick with Arc hero Luke Morris and MAYBE TONIGHT. The Tony Carroll runner has suggested on some days that 6f would suit. But this is very poor stuff.

Lingfield 15.33 – HARROVIAN

The feature of the day in the Listed Quebec Stakes over 1m2f. HARROVIAN has yet to win a stakes contest in eight attempts but he’s up to doing so and this is a good chance for John and Thady Gosden with William Buick on top. His third behind Missed the Cut and Algiers last time was a fair effort and I think he can reverse the form with the latter who got an enterprising ride on that occasion. Buick was on Forest of Dean on that occasion but ditches that one here.

So best of luck and pray for Christmas Yeeehaaas! You hear me Paddy?
