12:05 Nusret

Nusret, a Curragh maiden winner on the Flat, created a taking impression when drawing six lengths clear at Punchestown on his hurdling debut last month, looking better the further he went. That was an impressive start over hurdles and he looks like a useful prospect. Nusret, like a number of these, has also been declared for the listed juvenile hurdle at Doncaster which is his first preference.

Scriptwriter is the obvious danger, though he also has a first preference at Doncaster, while Perseus Way is another who should go well. Perseus Way emerged with plenty of credit when runner-up behind Scriptwriter on his hurdling debut here last month and he didn’t need to match that level to easily land the odds at Leicester last time.

12:40 Monmiral

This is a good opportunity for Monmiral, a smart hurdler who was unlucky to bump into a top-class prospect in Jonbon on his chasing debut at Warwick last month. Monmiral was no match for Jonbon but he still showed plenty of aptitude and is entitled to come on for that experience.

13:15 Editeur du Gite

Editeur du Gite goes well at Cheltenham and he posted two front-running victories in handicaps last term before launching another bold bid when a creditable fourth off this mark in the Grand Annual at the Festival. He shaped with encouragement under a change of tactics when third on the Old Course on his reappearance in October and he is entitled to be sharper for the outing.

FANCY A CHANCE TO WIN £/€75K?

13:50 Stolen Silver

Stolen Silver ran well over this course and distance in the spring, finishing a creditable fourth in the Plate before showing improved form to run out an impressive winner of the Silver Trophy on his final start of the campaign. Stolen Silver pulled 11 lengths clear in the Silver Trophy so a 7 lb rise in the weights looked on the lenient side. He was denied the chance to prove that on his reappearance in the Paddy Power Gold Cup as he unseated at the third-last, but he hadn’t been asked for maximum effort at the time and is worth another chance.

14:25 Epatante

Epatante enjoyed a productive campaign last season, winning three times at the highest level to take her overall Grade 1 tally to six, while she was also a creditable runner-up in the Champion Hurdle, finishing three and a half lengths behind Honeysuckle. Epatante was no match for Constitution Hill on her reappearance in the Fighting Fifth Hurdle last month, but she produced an encouraging effort in second and won’t face anything of Constitution Hill’s quality in the International Hurdle. She stands out as the one to beat on form.

15:00 Weveallbeencaught

Weveallbeencaught, a £210,000 purchase after winning his only start in an Irish point, created an excellent impression when winning his bumper debut at Newbury in March and he emerged with plenty of credit when thrown into the deep end in a Grade 2 on his hurdling debut here last month. Weveallbeencaught finished third in that event over two miles and five furlongs, catching the eye with the good late headway that he made up the hill. He left the impression that he would relish a stiffer test of stamina and he can raise his game now stepping up to three miles.

15:35 Theatre Glory

Theatre Glory took well to hurdling last season, winning four of her five starts over jumps, including a listed mares’ event over this course and distance on her final start of the campaign. She unseated her rider too far out to tell how she might have fared on her reappearance in the Gerry Feilden at Newbury a couple of weeks ago, but she can put that mishap behind her and bounce back here.
