This looks tricky, with none involved who can be written off. Elleon could be revived and go well on his stable debut, while support for Beat The Edge would pique interest. Sputnik is in good form but is unproven at this trip. If jumping round, Aazza may prove to be the biggest danger to the tentative selection, DEVOUR. He goes well here, has few miles on the clock and could be better for his reappearance.

13:03 Newcastle – Bouncing Bobby (Daily Record)

Having won very easily when back over hurdles at Carlisle last month, BOUNCING BOBBY is taken to defy an 11lb rise and follow up. Fenland Tiger is unbeaten in handicaps and could be a big danger. Great Raffles won his final two starts last season and can also be involved if fully tuned up for his comeback.

West Cork Wildway has the class to threaten in this company despite top weight and his latest Flat effort when blinkered for the first time bodes well. Preference, however, is for the 4yo DOCTOR CHURCHILL, who should appreciate this return to testing conditions. Blanketontheground is solid.

15:15 Wincanton – Mac Be Lucky (The Times)

Killybegs Junior (second choice) may be better served by this easier course/quicker ground and should go close. Gata Ban is interesting on her handicap debut but preference is for another returning from a break, MAC BE LUCKY.
