13:36 – Ararat
ARARAT made a promising debut at Yarmouth last month, ultimately proving no match for the winner but sticking to his task well to fill the runner-up spot. The third has since given the form a boost by winning next-time-out at Hamilton and the way Ararat shaped there suggests the step up to seven furlongs today is likely to unlock more improvement. He rates a very solid selection to get off the mark at the second attempt.
14:12 – Beryl Burton
BERYL BURTON showed a good attitude when last seen winning at Chepstow in July, staying on well to get the verdict by a head. Her record at this trip is very solid and it was only in June that she also finished a close-up second over this course and distance. Her absence since winning at Chepstow is a slight concern, but she certainly has the ability to go well again from just a 2 lb higher mark.
14:47 – I’m A Gambler
I’M A GAMBLER proved better than ever when winning a big-field handicap at Leopardstown three weeks ago, hitting the front entering the final furlong and digging deep when challenged late on to land the spoils by half a length. A likeable and tough performer, he seems to be thriving on racing and a first success at listed level shouldn’t prove beyond him judged on the level of form he showed last time.
15:21 – Cold Case
COLD CASE has taken his form to another level on his last two starts, first finishing third in the Gimcrack Stakes at York and then progressing further to win a valuable sales event at Doncaster. The official winning margin was just a short head last time, but it was still a good performance to make all in that big-field scenario. He is clearly going the right way and a repeat of that form will give him every chance of scooping another big pot.
15:57 – Give It Some Teddy
GIVE IT SOME TEDDY is on a losing run stretching back to August 2021, but today could be the day that he finally gets his head back in front. It was only in August this year that he was beaten just half a length over this course and distance and this track clearly brings out the best in him. After all, he will be seeking his sixth course win today and from a BHA mark of just 71 – 3 lb lower than when registering his last win.
16:32 – My Little Queens
MY LITTLE QUEENS shaped encouragingly when third on her latest outing at Ayr, doing well to be beaten only two and a quarter lengths having made her effort from further back than the lightly-raced pair who beat her. A consistent sort, she can line up from the same mark today and the drop in class gives her every opportunity to gain a deserved success.
17:07 – Molinari
MOLINARI wasn’t seen to best effect when finishing in mid-division at Ayr two weeks ago, passing the post less than four lengths behind the winner and looking unlucky not to finish closer still having met trouble at a crucial stage. He is enjoying a fine campaign (won twice earlier this year) and probably hasn’t finished winning yet judged on his latest run. He is certainly worth another chance to prove himself better than a BHA mark of 84.
17:37 – Ey Up It’s Maggie
EY UP IT’S MAGGIE is down to a good mark and ran well when refitted with cheekpieces at Beverley last time, only losing out close home having gone with enthusiasm under a positive ride. She is only 1 lb higher in the weights today for that half-length defeat and it’s surely just a matter of time before she resumes winnings ways if building on that run.
