13:30 Goodwood – The Attorney (Racing Post, Lambourn)

After a quiet reappearance last season THE ATTORNEY finished second in this race; probably needed last month’s reappearance run and the ground was probably too soft for him anyway; keep an eye on the weather with that in mind, but he has a big run in him off this mark.

15:50 Goodwood – The Lamplighter (Daily Mirror, Newsboy)

4lb higher than when delivered late by Pat Cosgrave in this 12 months ago but subsequent events go to show that THE LAMPLIGHTER can win races off his current mark, including a nose defeat here in April; running style leaves him a hostage to good fortune but he’s a danger to all if getting the breaks.

16:01 Perth – Minella Trump (Daily Express, The Scout)

Very astutely placed to win seven consecutive times last year and, following a four-month break, MINELLA TRUMP added to his tally with C&D win in April; another 5lb higher today but is well suited by good ground and commands respect.

18:45 Musselburgh – Wickywickywheels (On The Nose, Expert Eye)

Ex-Irish; WICKYWICKYWHEELS showed promise staying on over 1m2f (soft) on penultimate start and improvement to win seven-runner handicap at Hamilton (1m3f, good) 11 days ago, getting off the mark at sixth attempt; had to be switched and was still in last 1f out, before cutting them down, so she has clear potential to outstrip this 4lb rise.
