13:55 – Congo River

It’s likely that CONGO RIVER can confirm Curragh form with McCauley’s Tavern and Blindsided. Vanguard Star, not shamed in a Listed race on debut, could be a danger.

14:30 – Are We Dreaming

A few of these have plenty of questions to answer. Esculenta is the highest rated in the lineup and is likely to be thereabouts again. Coumshingaun arrives after a good handicap run last time and looks in top form, while Osraige needs to bounce back from her Fairyhouse run. A chance is taken on recent Naas third ARE WE DREAMING. She ran a cracker over seven furlongs on debut and the step back to 6f shouldn’t cause too much of an issue. She should come on plenty for the run.

15:05 – Lady Arwen

This is ultra-competitive and a case can be made for nearly all runners in the lineup, with six having won last time out. Galleria Borghese and Navagio are sure to be in the thick of it on their first start in a handicap, as is recent Curragh second National Gallery. Bells On Her Toes returns after a good Gowran success, but her conqueror at that venue before that was LADY ARWEN, and she’s taken to follow up. The return to 7f suited James Barrett’s filly perfectly, and the extra 6lb should be no issue.

15:40 – Buckman Tavern

It will be interesting to see how strong Jon Snow is in the market but BUCKMAN TAVERN comes into this off the back of a solid run at Navan and is well worth another try at 2m. Monty’s Way proved his stamina last time and won’t be easily beaten.

16:10 – Hotrocket

Elmos Fire seems to be improving with every run and should be right there, but it’s hard to get away from the debut performance of HOTROCKET (nap), who was beaten just shy of 4l by Star Of India. The champion jockey has been booked and the step up to a mile should suit perfectly. Lucky San Jore is the highest rated in the lineup and should improve in first-time cheekpieces.

16:40 – Han Solo

A lot of these have questions to answer. Kaswarah has been putting her best foot forward in recent times and is sure to go well, and Miracles In May showed up well on his latest appearance, but a chance is taken on HAN SOLO. He got no luck in running at Cork on his last start and has been dropped 2lb by the handicapper. The drop back to a mile should suit and he can land this if overcoming a bad draw. Miss Cunning and Shimla Rolann are others who could go well.

17:10 – The Gossiper

An interesting heat. Barbados has been frustrating in recent times but has won around here and is the highest rated in the lineup. Advantage Point ran a nice race at Sligo, finishing just ahead of THE GOSSIPER, but minor preference is for the latter. The Emmet Mullins-trained gelding has three bumper wins on his CV, and may have needed the run at Sligo on his first start for 291 days. If arriving on song, he is more than capable of throwing his hat into the mix. Dance Jupiter is another to keep an eye on.
