14:20 – Enki Flacke

It’s hard to get away from ENKI FLACKE who was so impressive when winning over C&D last month. A 7lb penalty wouldn’t have made any difference to him then. Holmes St Georges, representing another stable to have won this race in recent years, has some good bumper form to his name and can give the selection most to do if taking to hurdles.

14:55 – Ash Tree Meadow

Both Floating Rock and Timberman (second choice) have made a bright start to their chasing careers and remain open to further improvement, while Geromino would have to be feared if returning to the promise of his chase debut. However, another chance is given to ASH TREE MEADOW who ruined his chance by continually jumping out to his right on his debut over regulation fences, but should be happier this way round. He is surely capable of better in this sphere and gets a handy 6lb from the previous winners.

15:30 – Moore Clouds

Well Planted and A Mere Bagatelle (preferred in that order) were placed in the same C&D event last month and should be involved again but it might be worth chancing free-going front-runner MOORE CLOUDS, who has been off since the autumn but ran well when fresh in September and may benefit from today’s drop back in trip.

16:01 – Glenloe

Good cases can be made for all five runners but Irish raider GLENLOE was seemingly aided by headgear when making the frame on consecutive starts in April, and his British handicap mark looks workable. He gets the nod ahead of Minella Trump, who has a terrific strike-rate over the last 13 months.

16:32 – Golden Taipan

This might be best left to GOLDEN TAIPAN who went down fighting at Warwick last month, having been forced to switch on the run-in, and is only 1lb higher here. It won’t be a huge surprise if Gordon Elliott’s runner Imperial Sachin’s bounces back from last month’s poor performance at Ayr but, as things stand, his record over fences is very unconvincing. Sirwilliamwallace (second choice) is in fairly good form and has dropped to a good mark but there is a nagging doubt about the suitability of this right-handed track.

17:02 – Go Bob Go

Mike Smith’s GO BOB GO (nap) was nicely clear of the others when second to a next-time-out winner over C&D last month and can gain compensation off a 2lb higher mark today. Petite Rhapsody was given a lot to do before finishing well for second over 2m4f here on his latest outing and may yet have more to offer. Course specialist Pammi is next on the list.

17:35 – Mr Sundancer

The market should be revealing with the newcomers, especially the Stuart Crawford-trained pair I Love My Baie and Titch Magee who both have something to recommend them on pedigree. Elusive Sea probably needs to improve again to make a winning return, so it may be best to give another chance to MR SUNDANCER on stable debut. He has already won a good-ground bumper and may not have handled the soft ground in a Listed contest at Cheltenham when last seen.
