There’s stacks of great racing this weekend with the Dublin Racing Festival taking centre-stage, but there’s also plenty else to keep our boffins interested.

From Musselburgh in Scotland to Gulfstream Park in sunny Florida, USA, five of Paddy’s top traders have cast their expert eye over the weekend’s racing, and given their best bet.

WELCOME TO PADDY POWER NEWS!

Niall O’Reilly: Leopardstown 13:05 (Saturday) – Hollow Games

I’m quite keen on Hollow Games here, who I thought wasn’t seen to best effect at Naas last time, where he was hampered at a crucial time turning for home. He still ran on well for 3rd, finishing just a neck behind Grand Jury who re-opposes here.

I think he looks very likely to reverse that form with Grand Jury, who enjoyed a much smoother passage, and I think that form line sets the standard. Willie Mullins runs two in Bronn and Minella Cocooner, though both need to step up for me. Stablemate Minella Crooner looks the main danger, though I don’t feel like they hold him in the same esteem as HOLLOW GAMES, which leaves me fairly confident about the selection.

Conor Murphy: Musselburgh 14:05 (Saturday) – Boys On Tour

BOYS ON TOUR is likely to be the outsider of the field here but is certainly not without a chance. His mark has plummeted well below his last winning mark and actually ran OK on his last start until an error stopped him in his tracks three from home. His stable are in great form and he should improve for that run. Cheekpieces on for the first time may spark him up and he should run well.

Sean O’Sullivan: Gulfstream 22:10 (Saturday) – Mo Donegal

Put up a huge number when out nodding a promising Chad Brown horse in his last start I fully expect MO DONEGAL to punch his ticket to the Kentucky Derby on the first weekend in May here. Trainer Todd Pletcher is operating at a strike rate near 40% around Gulfstream this year and should had to the big pots he picked up last week with Life is Good and Colonel Liam.

Ryan McCue: Leopardstown 12:45 (Sunday) – Party Central

The handicapper may have had a few on him when he was giving PARTY CENTRAL her mark. 121 would look very generous on what we’ve seen of her so far and the fact that I feel a strongly run race over this trip will bring out the best in her, that makes her even harder to beat.

Frank Hickey: Leopardstown 12.45 (Sunday) – Party Central

Narrowly beaten in the Grade 2 mares bumper on this card last year, PARTY CENTRAL is two from three over hurdles and she had a valid excuse when beaten up in Down Royal. She makes her handicap debut off a really attractive mark of 121 and she could easily have a stone in hand. I wouldn’t put you off backing her Non Runner No Bet for the Mares Novice Hurdle at 16/1, as were she to win well, she will be a single figure price and if she is beaten, she almost certain that she won’t run and you will get your money back.
