13:00 – Coole Arcade
This is a competitive affair in which plenty can be given a chance but Coole Arcade holds the most compelling claims. He has made a solid start since joining Henry de Bromhead from John Clifford, hitting the frame in three of his four starts with his best effort coming when runner-up over two and a half miles at Navan on his penultimate outing. Coole Arcade should be as effective back at two miles and he remains on a competitive mark, so he should launch a bold bid under Rachael Blackmore. Kashi and Brosna Rocco both arrive in good form and are others to consider.

13:35 – Sam’s Choice
Sam’s Choice found two miles presenting an inadequate test of stamina when he was only fourth on his hurdling debut at Galway in October and he duly took a big step forward when upped in trip at Punchestown, finishing a close-up second over just shy of two and three-quarter miles. That was an encouraging effort behind a rival who has since finished runner-up in a Grade 2 novice and it is just about the pick of the form on offer. Sam’s Choice still has more to offer over hurdles and looks the one to beat.
14:05 – Klassical Dream
This looks like a good opportunity for Stayers’ Hurdle favourite Klassical Dream. He made an impressive return from a long layoff when landing the Champion Stayers Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival last year on his first attempt at three miles, and he posted a high-class performance when successful on his reappearance in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown last month. Klassical Dream beat last year’s Stayers’ Hurdle winner Flooring Porter, putting up the best performance seen in the division so far this season, and he ought to prove a cut above this opposition.

14:35 – Auckland
Auckland produced his best effort yet when runner-up in a two-mile novice hurdle at Limerick last month and the form is starting to work out well as the third, fourth and fifth all finished placed in big-field events next time out. Auckland was only beaten a length, despite stumbling after the second-last when holding every chance, and he looks well treated on that form. The step back up to two and a half miles won’t be a problem and he should give a good account.
15:05 – Escaria Ten
Escaria Ten took well to chasing last season and he showed a very smart level of form when finishing third in a strong edition of the National Hunt Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, finding only Galvin and Next Destination too strong. He was pulled-up in the Irish Grand National less than three weeks later but he presumably found the race coming too soon after his big effort at the Festival, and he is much better judged on the form of his Cheltenham run. He is still relatively unexposed as a chaser and looks to be on a handy mark on his return to action, so he can provide trainer Gordon Elliott with a third Thyestes Chase win in five years.

15:35 – Coeur Sublime
This looks like a straightforward task for Coeur Sublime and he can make the most of the good opportunity. Coeur Sublime, a Grade 2-winning hurdler, found only Ferny Hollow too strong on his chasing debut at Punchestown last month and he then ran creditably when third in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown last time in a race also won by Ferny Hollow. He can take advantage of this marked drop in grade and gain a deserved success.
16:07 – Mercurey
There’s not much form to go on here but Mercurey catches the eye on pedigree as his dam, Mangoun, is a sister to Molotof and Marracudja, a couple of smart chasers. Given how dominant Willie Mullins has been with his bumper representatives, it would be a surprise were Mercurey not fit enough or clued-up enough to do himself justice at the first attempt.
